What the DC Putsch Teaches About diversity & equality
First, the good news: Our institutions held.
Second, Senators Warnock & Ossoff were elected in Georgia, securing a majority in Congress for Vice-President Harris & President Biden.
Amazing things can & will now be done to embed & consolidate the triumph for equality & diversity which these recent victories spell.
To the Putschists & many who naively supported Trump’s thinly veiled Dog Whistle about Making America Great Again, seeing a Black woman vice-president & Black Senator from Georgia is a sign of “chaos.”
Fear of “chaos” is at the root of Right Wing Authoritarian (RWAs) Followers’ abhorrence of the idea of “equality” in many social dimensions.

Working to further embed the actuality of Diversity, Inclusion, Participation & above all Equality in Every Dimension of Our Lives is one response we can have to the putsch we have just witnessed.
Another response is to take these jokers seriously. They mean business, despite their florid shirts, establishment enablers & pathetic rhetoric.
