Dem Political Operatives and LGBTQ OfficeHolders Create a PAC-The Agenda PAC

Saw this article, and had to share.

Unlike groups such as Victory Fund, which are mainly focused on electing LGBTQ candidates, Agenda PAC plans to aggressively advertise against politicians they see as hostile to LGBTQ rights. The first target: Doug Mastriano, Pennsylvania’s Republican nominee for governor.

“We are going after the beatable bigots,” Kenyatta said. “Sometimes those beatable bigots are running against incredible LGBTQ candidates. And sometimes they’re running against folks who are allies to our community.”

Here’s the thing, the GOP has always managed to out-money liberal candidates, also out-scream and out-advertise. The reason, I think, is liberals don’t respond well to aggressive, emotion-fueled advertising for the most part whereas conservatives do. And as we all know, the headlines that get clicks are the ones filled with emotion and aggression so we kind of screw ourselves here.

However, there is a lot of untapped and needing to be directed anger, especially with younger people, and rightfully so, and I think groups like these will help turn the tide and give outlets for people who are tired of being stepped on a place to vent the anger and direct it towards making progress.

I personally am appreciating the fact that they are targeting well-known bigots. I feel that for too long now liberals assumed people would be horrified by bigots being blatant about it, I think we forgot they are still among us. It is far past time that these people be called out and treated with the amount of contempt and scorn they deserve.

It’s not just about electing the people we want, it’s also about getting rid of the most hateful fringe of the GOP, and the only way we do that is to push hard against them and form up for battle, they won’t back down quietly, they’ve shown us that.

I also feel that as more and more people become comfortable with claiming that they are LGBTQ that they will have more and more election power, the GOP is banking there is enough hate towards them to catapult them to power, they highly underestimate how many LGBTQ people and LGBTQ allies there are in this country and I am hoping that groups like these give them a very, very rude awakening.
