Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene Proves My Point: White Conservative Men Think They Are Victims.
MTG proclaims that white men watch pornography and play video games because they are the “most persecuted” group in the United States.
“Let’s talk about why white men and young white men, in particular, are really, they’re put, you guys are put bottom on the list of so many things,” she continued. “The reason I stick up for white men is I know for a fact when you guys apply to college, you’re put down at the bottom of the list and everyone is allowed to be accepted and admitted into college and then they finally move on to the white men.”
“Through our entire culture, white men are bad,” the lawmaker complained. “But what that’s done to your generation and even some of those a little older than you and those definitely younger than you is it’s created hopelessness in many of these guys.”
Greene added: “No one is there for them as they are growing up. They spend hours and hours alone, which is what do they do with their time when they are alone? They don’t have an after-school job if they are in high school. Maybe they probably don’t play a sport. So they’re spending hours and hours time alone, which turns them to all kinds of bad things: porn on the internet, reading crazy stuff in chat rooms and God knows who’s in there and saying what they’re saying. A lot of time playing video games.”

So, let’s break this insanity down, shall we?
First: The Party of “Personal Responsibility” whose tag lines are #Pullyourselfupbyyourbootstraps #Fuckyourfeelings #NeedaSafeSpace? #LibsAreSnowflakes and #IfYou’rePoorIt’sYourFault are now saying that the reason men watch porn and play video games is that they are oppressed.
Um…I think sex workers everywhere would find that hysterical seeing as how porn has been a thing since, like, forever. I mean, yes, all those poor oppressed white men in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s that never got jobs, wives, or college degrees or houses were drowning their sorrows and rough lives in the vast array of pornographic images being put out by, wait for it, white men.
I mean, unless Playboy and Hustler were secretly run by cabals of women and minorities that just used Hefner and Flynt for PR purposes only.
And, wait, let me think, video games came out in the 80s, which was a decade filled with white male oppression. There were no white men in movies, music, or anywhere.

I’m sorry, are white men suddenly incapable of playing sports? Maybe if they’re not getting the pro contracts they used to they should work harder. If they don’t have a job, why?
I thought that if someone didn’t have a job it was their fault for not trying hard enough. I mean jobs are EVERYWHERE! I guess they’re just not motivated enough to work, sounds like they’re just lazy and entitled to me.
Where are their parents? If they’re home alone for hours whose fault is that? If their mothers didn’t want to raise their sons they should have just kept their legs closed. No one FORCED their parents to get pregnant, so why aren’t they doing a better job? Maybe they should give their sons up for adoption instead of letting them suffer alone in their rooms.
And if they’re reading all this crazy stuff in chat rooms, maybe we should work on making sure chat rooms don’t become bastions of hate and encourage social media providers to get rid of misinformation and hate posts. That makes sense, doesn’t it?
All joking aside, MTG is tapping into a core issue here that Dems can’t message away. White men are hating having to compete with women and POC for jobs etc, they’re freaking out that there is more visible diversity in media and people are demanding that even if they’re not white or straight that they be treated with respect.
White Male Conservatives hate that, she knows it and she knows, just like Trump, that she can appeal to their sense of victimhood to enrage and inflame and get people to use violence to push their agenda. And it’s working.
So next time when you think Dems are losing an election because of messaging, go read some statements and interviews with people on the right and understand that their supporters truly feel they are being victimized because they see dark skin and gay kisses in movies.
