Fusion GPS Co-Founder to Plead the Fifth: Report

The co-founder of “Fusion GPS,” the firm behind the now infamous Steele Dossier containing salacious and admittedly unverified accusations against President Trump, will take the Fifth next week in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, according to Fox News.
Glenn Simpson was slated to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday during a hearing titled, “Oversight of the Foreign Agents Registration Act and Attempts to Influence U.S. Elections: Lessons Learned from Current and Prior Administrations.”
Republican Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa chairs the committee and has been trying to bring members of Fusion GPS before the committee to explain how the Steele Dossier was produced, and whether any Democratic political operatives had a hand in its production.
President Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. and former campaign manager Paul Manafort are also scheduled to appear before the committee.
Grassley has expressed that he is open to issuing subpoenas to compel witnesses to appear.
