A Miami Republican Senator has apologized for screaming out racial slurs at a bar late one night. If you made a list of all the insulting and cruel things Republicans do, using racial slurs would be very low on the list. After all, this is the party that campaigns on taking food out of your child’s mouth and denying your mother healthcare, all for the sanctity of lowering someone’s taxes by one percent.
Sen. Frank Artiles, a Miami Republican, was talking with a pair of African-American Senators on Monday night. The conversation took place over drinks, at the members-only Governors Club, right next to the state Capitol. MiamiHerald article
The racial slur was used only after Sen. Artiles called them a long chain of insults including, a “fucking asshole”, a “bitch” and a “girl”. According to the two senators, Audrey Gibson of Jacksonville and Perry Thurston of Fort Lauderdale, Artiles claimed that Senate President Joe Negron of Stuart, had achieved his powerful GOP leadership role, because “six niggers” in the Republican caucus elected him.
Maybe the White Russian was doing the talking. Most likely, Republican Sen. Frank Artiles was unleashing deep racial animosity. You see, the only black senators in the Florida state Senate are Democrats. None of them would have helped the GOP Senate President’s rise to power.
After Frank had uttered such a disgusting term, the entire Florida government was on their heads, wondering who the heck-fire was he talking about! Considering that conversation with the two black senators, was probably the only conversation Sen. Frank Atiles ever had with a black person, he was probably so dazzled, that he was just speaking his mind.
The very next day, Sen. Frank Artiles was busy apologizing for his rash statements.
“In an exchange with a colleague of mine in the Senate, I unfortunately let my temper get the best of me,” Artiles said in a statement. “There is no excuse for the exchange that occurred and I have apologized to my Senate colleagues and regret the incident profusely.”
While Atiles was fishing for an excuse, he explained to Gibson and Thurston that he did not mean for the term “niggas” to be insulting. I’m sure that was good enough for most republicans.
You are free to believe that answer if you want. Did Artiles use the ‘n-word’ because he is a racist? Isn’t that the question of the hour? After extensive research we could find the answer, or at least have a very good assumption. Look at where he came from and his family members and his friends.
An easier method in determining the intent of his words, is to determine whether or not he is an asshole. If we can classify this republican asshole as an asshole, than I think it is safe to assume that if he calls a few of his black colleagues ‘niggas’, the intent is as callous as the human soul can get.
Imagine you have this racist asshole, who has never broken bread with a black person. Suddenly, drop him in a bar, at a table with two black dudes. What word do you think is glaring in his mind, in these big bright neon letters? Don’t you think a racist asshole would be unable to contain that word in his mouth?
Look at some of his past legislation. Is this the legislation of an asshole?
He once sponsored a bill that limited transgender people from using restrooms of their choice.
He once punched a college student in the face while at bar.
He once was recorded using anti-Muslim slur “hajis”. SaintPetersBlog
Before Artiles apologized, Gibson had told the Miami Herald that saying sorry would be “meaningless.”
“You’re just talking — loud — to a table of people about leadership. It made me sad,” she said. “I can’t remember a time in my life when anybody called me either one of those things,” she added, referring to the two insults directed at her. “It’s just the most disrespect I’ve ever encountered.” MiamiHerald article
This is the sort of person that republicans elect? Whether it be someone who screams out racial insults at a bar, someone who knocks on bathroom stall walls for gay sex, or someone who scammed thousands of kids to pay for an educational experience that was actually nothing.
They get more disgusting by the minute…
