Senator Lindsey Graham is up to no Good

Few republican politicians have opposed Donald Trump as much as South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham. A month after Trump launched his campaign, Graham called him “the world’s biggest jackass”. Trump responded by calling Graham an idiot, and reading out his personal phone number at a rally. Graham was forced to change his number.

When Trump stole the election, I prayed that those republican politicians, such as Graham, would defend us. Even come election day, the handful of prominent republican NeverTrumpers seemed like our only hope.

“My party has gone batshit crazy,” Graham said in a February 2016 speech about Trump. Graham told Fox News that Trump is “a kook. I think he’s crazy. I think he’s unfit to be president.” WeeklyStandard

So then Trump became president, and earned the powers to make his most vicious enemy another one of his mindless minions. Now, look how his opinion has changed.

“I’ve played golf with him. You know, play golf with somebody for three or four hours, you get to know them better. He’s funny as hell. He’s got a great sense of humor. There’s a method to the madness.”

“He’s nobody’s fool,” Graham adds. “Very smart. And he asks a lot of good questions.”

I only want what is best for our country. Of course, I prefer our politicians to be allies as opposed to foes. But we should ask what made Graham change his opinion 180 degrees.

Graham has always been a seemingly devout protector of justice. Even when he became bed buddies with Trump, he still adamantly defended Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Remember when he ordained there’d be “hell to pay” if Sessions was fired?

Sessions was fired, and Graham didn’t even wink an eye, let alone unleash “hell”.

Just a few months ago, when Trump and Putin held their secret meeting, Graham kicked up a real fuss. He warned Trump to check the soccer ball Putin gave him for listening devices. Ouch!

He also tweeted,

During the 2015–2016 election season, Ukrainian-born billionaire Leonard “Len” Blavatnik contributed $6.35 million to leading Republican candidates and incumbent senators. Mitch McConnell was the top recipient of Blavatnik’s donations, collecting $2.5 million for his GOP Senate Leadership Fund under the names of two of Blavatnik’s holding companies, Access Industries and AI Altep Holdings, according to Federal Election Commission documents and OpenSecrets.org….

Other high dollar recipients of funding from Blavatnik were PACS representing Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker at $1.1 million, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham at $800,000, Ohio Governor John Kasich at $250,000 and Arizona Senator John McCain at $200,000. — DallasNews

In January, billionaire Blavatnik donated $1 million to Trump’s campaign. Then in 2017, the Ukranian billionaire gave another hot $1 million to McConnell’s Senate Leadership Fund.

Paul Manafort was Trump’s former campaign manager. The Associated Press reported earlier this year, that in 2006 Manafort began accepting $10 million a year from Oleg Deripaska to advance Putin’s interests in Western governments.

I’d say they got their moneys worth!

On Tuesday, Graham came out in support of a bill to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. He urged Senate Majority Mitch McConnell to get behind such a bill.

This made me raise my eyebrows. The investigation that Graham is trying to protect is aimed at revealing the crimes committed by the same people that donated a lot of money to Graham and his fellow crooked republican politicians.

Perhaps Graham’s nuts are the size of bowling balls, and he would just take millions of dollars from Russian gangsters and then protect an investigation into them. More likely though, I bet Graham is confident no such protection will be granted.

Russia gave Graham money before the elections and before he said a lot of the opposition to Trump. So, to say that Graham was bought off would be wrong. More likely though, he is just trying to make it seem that he opposes Trump. In his heart, he is as dirty as any other republican.

By voicing his opposition and his will to protect Mueller’s investigation, years to come, Graham will be considered a stalwart protector of American justice. Despite accepting millions of dollars from the very people Mueller is investigating, by maintaining this NeverTrumper facade, Graham is hoping he could maintain his innocence.

Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen!
