Trump Begins Killing Beloved Programs Like PBS in Order to Save Friends and Family Members Cash

One of Trump’s many campaign promises was to kill Big Bird. Now that Representative Mick Mulvaney has been nominated and accepted as budget director, the Trump administration has about nine programs they are going to eliminate such as, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the Legal Services Corporation, AmeriCorps and the National Endowments for the Arts and the Humanities. These are all beloved programs. Also, these programs only cost our government a tiny fraction compared to what Trump will be stuffing in his family member’s Christmas stockings.

His impassioned rallies would roar with delight every time Trump mentioned slashing funding for PBS. Not quite sure why they would cheer about that. PBS is a fundamental aspect of the teaching of our youth. Especially when you think about where that money will be going now that it is freed up. Essentially, those tank top wearing, swastika waving Trumpkins, were cheering our government’s decision to slas funding for teaching our youth and instead hand it to the top 1%.

These budget cuts would apparently come alongside deep tax cuts heavily favoring the most well-off. The House GOP’s “Better Way” tax plan issued last year, which the Trump team is reportedly moving toward, would lose $3.1 trillion in revenue over the coming decade, according to the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center (TPC). [4] In the first year, 76 percent of these tax cuts would go to the top 1 percent of Americans; by the tenth year, 99 percent of the tax cuts would. According to the NY Times, by slashing these nine beloved programs, the US government will save about $2.5 billion a year. That is nothing compared to what Trump has proposed to give to his wealthy patriots.

Taking away from the middle class to afford plump gifts for the wealthy is already a common attribute in all of Trump’s legislation. For example, the republican plan for healthcare will significantly reduce funding for states that provide insurance to low-income adults.

It also aims to change how tax credit are dispensed to citizens not covered by a job. Every American not covered gets a credit, disregarding the amount you might earn from work.

Hence, if you are unemployed living on a bench outside a soup kitchen, you get the same as Donald Trump. That is, once he leaves the white house.
