About a week ago, Former Republican Senator Ralph Shortey made his first court appearance since he was charged with child prostitution. The judge ordered the senator to stay away from his seventeen year old MALE victim and to stay off social media.
Shortey plead not guilty to three massive charges.
- engaging in child prostitution
- engaging in prostitution within 1,000 feet of a church
- transporting a minor for prostitution.
Unless his political career gets him some slack, Shortey can go to prison for 25 years.
We need to take a step away from this disgusting crime and analyze it, and try to figure out what would compel this grown man and accomplished politician to seek carnal desires from a little boy.
Of course there is no one else to blame besides Shortey. He’d probably blame his last name, and the life-long ridicule that has earned him. I’m sure having that last name ironed some serious issues in the fellow. However, it is difficult to ignore the fact that so many republicans find themselves in similar dire circumstances.
What are their excuses?
The religious right conservative party is seemingly so ethical. With their pious fight against abortion or their crusade to rid evolution from your kid’s textbooks, they claim to be messengers of god.
Upon closer scrutiny however, just a glance at the demonic legislation they write, these politicians are anything but divine. Republican politicians are constantly trying to remove funding to feed starving families, or for education, and they are so gungho for war, and providing their uber wealthy buddies with even more money. These politicians are constantly struggling to maintain this facade of ethical perfection. Eventually though, the mask begins to dissolve.
In the past twenty years, we have seen so many examples of republicans who preach from the top of the mountain about the sins of homosexuality, but then when that door is closed another ideology emerges.
Who could forget republican senator Larry Craig. After helping to enact the military’s anti-gay ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ bill, Larry got busted for knocking on an airport bathroom stall for some gay lovin’.
Troy King used to be the Alabama Attorney General. He rose to power by calling homosexuality “the downfall of society”. In 2008 though, he had some explaining to do, when his wife came home and caught him in bed with a male prostitute.
California State Senator Roy Ashburn voted against every LGBT legislation he was given. However in 2010, he got pulled over for driving home drunk after leaving a Sacramento gay night club. Another drunk man was in the car.
I can go on, but it is making me sick. You won’t find democrats soliciting male prostitutes, but there are plenty of republicans that do. Why?
Our vice president’s wife Karen said in an interview from 2002 that Mike Pence has never eaten with another woman, so that he avoids sexual temptation. Is that not the weirdest thing you have ever read?
Is the vice president of the United States, really that weak of a person that if he is eating with another woman he will be unable to restrain himself from jumping on top of her?
Comments like that are extremely virtuous. I’m sure that comment alone earned him a few votes. But what do they think about when Pence closed down some Planned Parenthoods in his state. As a direct result, thousands of people died because they were unable to get contraceptives and clean needles. He doesn’t care about killing people, but he is so virtuous he can’t eat with another woman!

As a result, when the RNC rolls into whatever city, business for the local gay prostitutes soars!
