They happily voted Trump: 1 sad way he’s killing their jobs now
I’m always fascinated by low-income, low-information Trump voters.
On one cynical hand, I do understand why some wealthier Americans are big supporters of the Mango Man.
Tax breaks for the rich and for corporations, along with cuts to social services they don’t use, stand to benefit them the most.
And in my experience travelling America, most never really have to see the downside of their “survival of the fittest” mindset.
American cities appear, to my eye anyway, to be largely segregated not just along racial lines, but along economic ones too.
Go to certain areas of, say, South Florida, and you would think America is a beautiful fantasyland with perfectly manicured suburbs and tip-top infrastructure.
All you have to do to enjoy it is forget that there are neighborhoods nearby that you would be insane to drive into if you value your possessions and physical safety.
For the folks who live in those beat-up, ultra-low-income urban and rural areas, I fail to see the appeal of Trump.
Unless you believe in trickle-down economics, they gain little from Trump’s tax policies, stand to suffer most from cuts to social programs, and are already paying higher prices for staples impacted by his illegal and unjustified tariffs on everyday goods.
