A Simple Test for Racism
There is no middle ground
Black Americans are much more likely to live in poverty than white Americans. “In 2019, the poverty rate for the United States was 10.5%… The poverty rate for Blacks was 18.8%,” while “the 2019 poverty rate [was] 7.3% for non-Hispanic whites.”
Black Americans, though arriving in North America long before many other ethnic groups, remain disproportionately mired at the lower levels of the economic scale.
Why do you think that is so?
You must believe one of two things.
A) America has put these people at a disadvantage due to their skin color. “The system” discriminates against Black Americans.
B) Black Americans are somehow inferior to all the other ethnic groups that have come to America, and for that reason, have failed to become integrated into upwardly mobile economic success.
It’s that simple. Which do you believe?
