Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Just Gave the Rich a Dressing Down
AOC’s “Tax the Rich” dress upset people on both the right and left. And jump-started a conversation about taxation.
The other night, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez alighted into a gala at the Met and dared its ultra-wealthy patrons to feast their eyes on a long white dress with the words “Tax the Rich” prominently displayed in deep red along her back.
The gala, oh so cleverly called The Met Gala, is a very exclusive event. An invitation-only affair established by Vogue Magazine, it’s a be-seen scene if there ever was one. If you’re invited, your picture has probably been in Forbes Magazine.
If you’re invited to the gala, you also get the honor of paying at least $35,000 to attend.
AOC showed up in what the New York Times described as “a custom Brother Vellies ivory wool jacket dress with an organza flounce.”
I don’t even know what that means [1], do you?
Maybe it’s not PC these days to say it, but I’ll just say she looked ravishing in a white graffiti dress.
