All Biden has to do is not screw up

Frustrated with how we ended up with a mediocre candidate in Joe Biden, I’m coming around to a different conclusion

I have been frustrated with the Democratic Party for some time. Bill Clinton lied about being on the receiving end of a blow job, when he could have simply owned the infidelity and we all could have moved on. Barack Obama accepted a Nobel Peace prize for winning a popularity contest, when he could have declined and earned some respect from his rivals.

And don’t even get me started on the economic policies of the Clinton/Obama administrations that are more moderate Republican than liberal Democrat. They caved to neo-liberal economic ideology which has led to stratifying inequality.

Or how about when Bernie Sanders was seeking the 2016 nomination? Despite steady polling that showed Sanders was the preferred candidate of 40% of Democratic voters, he could only manage 6% of the super delegates. The fix was in.

Four years later we get Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. under similar circumstances. In the early run-up to the 2020 Democratic nomination, Biden just wasn’t performing that well, and somehow, he wins South Carolina. Ok, fine. But then other candidates drop out left and right to get behind Biden; just four states into…
