I wasn’t sure what it was when I first heard the phrase. All the buzz and repetitive use of this fairly new terminology describing something people have already been doing for eons has become cultural in and of itself. Honestly, the whole contrived idea it has morphed into is completely manufactured, and boring.

What if I told you that you can cancel anything you want to? People change. Tastes change. Priorities change. Desires change. Mental health changes. Income changes. Hair color changes. Sex changes. You can progress. You can regress. You can stay the same. You can forgive and forget. You can feed a grudge. You can be guarded, or you can be open. The possibilities are literally endless in America.

But, I don’t like Spam!

I don’t have to like anything, and neither do you. Canceling is personal. Maybe something or someone that once added value to your life no longer does. Perhaps you come to decide someone or something you’ve spent time and money on was a complete waste. Maybe you just no longer see things the same way as you once did. Cancel! Poof; be gone! Viola! Free will at its finest.
