Georgia state Rep. Park Cannon was arrested and charged with felony obstruction and preventing or disrupting a general assembly session. What did she do? She was knocking on the door of Governor Kemp’s office as he signed into law new voting restrictions. Oh, excuse me, he was signing voting reform. He signed it with a collection of white men surrounding him.

There has been a lot of discussion of what was in this law, but perhaps one thing that didn’t get enough attention is this, quoting from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

The bill also will allow the State Election Board to take over county election boards that it deems need intervention. Skeptics say that will allow Republican officials to decide which ballots count in majority Democratic areas, such as Fulton County.

Read that again very carefully. Think about that and what that means. Think about what would have happened if that law were in place in the previous election.
