Is Biden Setting Harris Up To Fail?
He has given her an impossible list of tasks to accomplish
I’m beginning to wonder if President Biden regrets choosing Kamala Harris as his VP. It certainly seems that way if you look at the portfolio that he has assigned to her.
First, he put her in charge of working with the Northern Triangle countries of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to lessen the violence and corruption as well as build up their economies so that their citizens will not feel compelled to make the long trek north to the US in search of a better life.
Obama gave the same assignment to Biden and he failed miserably. If you recall, massive amounts of aid were allocated, but very little of it actually reached the people who needed it. Most of it went into the pockets of the corrupt governments of those countries and the drug cartels.
Thanks to the pandemic, conditions have only worsened in Central America. More people than ever are desperate to leave and come to the US.
Somehow, Biden thinks that a person whose only experience with immigration is the border issue can magically make everything better.
On June 1, Biden announced that he had put Harris in charge of protecting voting rights. How does he think that she is going to do that? H.R.1 has passed the House but not the Senate thanks to the filibuster.
The Democrats can’t get rid of the filibuster because Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) both oppose doing so.
Meanwhile, 349 bills that restrict voting access have been introduced in 48 states. Already, 14 states have passed 22 bills that restrict access to the vote.
This is a full-on, 5 alarm emergency and Biden has assigned it to a person who only served 4 years in the Senate, not nearly enough time to get to know the personalities and customs of the Senate nor to form close working relationships with anyone.
