During the second week of June, Congresswoman Val Demings, D-Fla, announced her intention to challenge Marco Rubio, R-Fla, for the U.S. Senate seat he currently occupies. As a supporter of Rep. Demings, and as a Democrat, I was happy to see a well-qualified candidate announce her plans to contend for that seat.

One day prior to her announcement, Rep. Demings had sent out an email to supporters — I had given her campaign a few dollars last year — asking for ‘feedback’ about what we as voters wanted her to work on in the coming months. I immediately sent her my reply via email, and had hoped some acknowledgement of the collective efforts of those providing the ‘feedback’ would be announced, but nothing ever came. The very next day, Congresswoman Demings announced her plans for the U.S. Senate, and the fundraising emails from her campaign began.

Since I did not receive a response to my ‘feedback,’ after a few weeks I decided to send her campaign a letter — in the mail — with my ‘feedback.’ It has now been more than 50 days since I first sent that email, yet I still have received nothing from her…
