No Way Out for Putin. So What Happens Next?

What will he do now that there are now no winning scenarios left on the table?

When the news first came in that Russian forces had invaded Ukraine, I, like many people, had a range of emotions. More than anything else though, I was angry.

Really angry.

While it’s true that we humans are now — and always have been — at war with each other somewhere on the planet throughout our entire history due to our ridiculous collective nature, on an individual basis some wars somehow “feel” more justified than others.

That’s a hard thing to admit, but the fact is that it’s true and it all stems from the depth of our beliefs and values. Even so, most of us would still agree that we’d rather it never happens at all.

Sadly, I suspect that we are still generations of evolution away from that day.

But in this case, the whole thing seemed like a pointless exercise from the very moment the first Russian boot set foot in Ukrainian territory. There are — literally — no good outcomes, not even for the aggressor. There is only loss of life, livelihoods and peace for all concerned.

Of course, there are those who support Russia, or at least consider Putin’s “security concerns” a valid premise…
