They were asked, they are happy,
This is what they voted for.
Sovereignty not under threat
Refugees to decline
Austerity to go on,
Trade tariffs to cripple
Small business’s into liquidation,
Business investors and banks
To leave the country,
Spending cuts across the board
Masked behind fiscal policy.
Hospitals underfunded and
Health care to be sold off,
Foreign workers sent back home
Food in the fields to rot,
Refugees detained and demonised,
You know, the ones bombed
Out of house, home and country.
Doctors fees now to pay,
More children to go hungry
And denied basic care.
Schools to be underfunded,
Teachers now feed the hungry
Children from their own
The elderly to look after themselves
Retirement age to go up,
Homelessness rising once again
In a shamefully rich country.
5th 6th or 7th in the
World no less.
Wages can not cover the landlords
Increasing rent while parents try to
Feed and clothe their children,
A choice has to be made.
The fire service blamed for Grenfell,
Not greedy government and corporate cuts,
More reduction of public service funding while
Politicians raise their own plentiful wage.
Increasing corporate profits
Tax relief for the rich
Subsidised by the poor.
Newsagencies selling lies,
Of which the B.B.C. became
The tory cheerleader
Lambasting the opposition
To make out the right thing was done.
Their owners in tax havens
It’s ok, they’re fabulously wealthy!
While Julian Assange rots in prison
For exposing the bitter truth.
Lauding the rich
Hating the poor,
Making families pay for benefit scroungers,
While the real benefit scroungers
Reside in Parliament Sq.
With their corrupt expenses
For swimming pools and porn,
Taking second jobs affording their Beneficiaries
Perks of the acquired position.
Politicians celebrated by a public who
Ignored child abuse and rape
By those they so love.
Ignoring the plight and borders
Of those they acquired
Within their empire, within their Eaton mess.
An Eaton mess selling off
The country of which they have no right
To a mad man across the water
Along with his corporate puppeteers.
Where is the sovereignty in this?
Where is the sense of fair play?
For those who had it all, now vote to
Take it all away.
