Politically Speaking has a bit of a new look on the homepage — go check it out!

For our readers, there’s been a bit of a shift in Medium regarding curation, therefore, I have removed the curated articles section from the front page until we can figure it all out. On a similar note, our editorial staff is working hard to polish and promote quality writing material for you with topics ranging from societal interests and news to Election 2020 and everything between.

We hope you will continue to read and support our brave writers who tackle the topics and bring you fresh perspectives, informative analysis, and dynamic political poetry, fiction, satire, and some sizzling hot rants. Stay tuned throughout the election cycle for content to entertain and empathize with all the varying perspectives — we truly are all in this together.

While most of our writers are based in America or write on American politics, we do have writers all over the world. We hope you will also check out their work as well.

Here’s how to support writers and political voices you love:

  • Read the article. You can highlight a sentence you love and a little box will pop up. Select the highlight/pen looking icon and it will highlight the area you’ve selected. This lets the writer know — “Hey, I like this. Well done!”
  • CLAP — You can use the applause icon to clap for an article up to 50 times to let a writer know how much you liked their piece.
  • Leave a comment. Writers love to hear your thoughts. BE RESPECTFUL even if you disagree. Otherwise, your comment may be ignored or hidden. We accept ALL KINDS of political perspectives here and we want our writers to know that no matter their political persuasion or opinion, they are welcome to share it here. Voices MATTER. Our motto here is “We see. We speak.”
  • SHARE the article to your social media. This allows more people to see the article and they may want to read it too!

If you are a writer yourself or want to join and try out your own voice, here are our submission guidelines. We do not offer compensation, but we do offer a place for your voice to be heard. Submission Guidelines.

***NOTE: TO the writers — we have a new tag you can use: ELECTION 2020 and a new tab for those stories!

Co-Editors: Scott Tarlo and Shawn Forno
