What the Kenosha shootings reveal about the Second Amendment
Kyle Rittenhouse thought it was okay to load his AR-15 style assault-rifle, and drive nearly thirty miles across state lines to join a “militia” in a city ravaged by protests of police brutality. Kyle Rittenhouse is seventeen years old, an avid Trump supporter, and an outspoken proponent of Blue Lives Matter. His decisions were not legally sound, and now, two people are dead and another is maimed.
In what world does someone do this? In the same world where it can be necessary to protest the death of an unarmed man, Jacob Blake, who was shot seven times in the back in front of his children, someone else can kill two people and be allowed to leave the scene without so much as being patted down by police, who were nearby watching. Something is gravely broken here.
