How Dare You

How dare you sit back from the comfort of your computer and defend a man who has multiple allegations of sexual misconduct and child molestation against him?

How dare you tout “innocent until proven guilty” yet still do not believe the guilt of people like Bill O’Reilly and your beloved president who are settling with their accusers? If paying out to the victims isn’t “proof” of guilt, then a criminal conviction will not be enough for you either. So spare me.

How dare you try to determine if a 14-year-old child is capable of consent?

How dare you pretend that 32-year-old men rubbing the breasts and gentials of a 14-year-old is anything but reprehensible, immoral and illegal?

How dare you insinuate that democrats are worse than child molesters?

Oh, that’s not you? You feel defensive right now? You are just a moderate Republican who leans right most of the time? A fiscal conservative, eh? Well, this is for you.

How dare you, moderate Republican, sit back and not participate in this conversation? A man accused of sexual crimes against minors is up for a seat on the United States senate. He is one of YOURS. It is your duty to speak out against him. We do not have to wait on “if it is true.” We can make an educated conclusion based on the accounts of the victim, the corroborating witnesses, the response by Moore himself, etc. We do not have to wait for him to be convicted of a crime (because that is not going to happen) to decide that an overwhelming amount of evidence points to the fact that he did, in fact, molest a little girl.

We do not get to remain silent or politically neutral right now. There is no, “but Hillary will be worse” defense. That’s how you justified voting for Trump, wasn’t it? You were able to hold your nose and vote for a man who has multiple sexual harrassment and misconduct allegations against him, even an accusation that he raped his ex-wife, all because “he’ll be better than Hillary.” There is no excuse for your complicity in the case of Roy Moore. And yes, my Republican friend, your silence means you are complicit.

We can disagree on political ideology, gun control, social services, health care, women’s rights, black lives matter and the border wall all day long, but don’t we ALL agree that a 32-year-old man making a 14-year-old child touch his penis crosses the line?

This is not political. I can assure you I would feel the same way if Roy Moore had a D behind his name. If faced with evidence that any current democrat politician molested a child, I will 100% disavow them and encourage my democrat friends to do the same and to do so loudly.

And right now, every moderate republican needs to speak out.
