We are living in increasingly strange times, made so by the ongoing sabotage of common sense and moderation. We have no use for them anymore. Instead, we prefer to fight fire with fire and eliminate each other once and for all. This is what happens when listening stops, and everyone shouts louder and louder to assert their own perspective.

I have often argued that every extreme ideological faction shares one thing in common: the belief that they alone hold the truth, looking down on anyone who dares to oppose them.

My patience with both sides has been wearing thin, and I increasingly want to be just a temporary passenger in their noisy debates, especially on social media.

Whatever the hot topic of discussion may be, it’s time to understand that, regardless of the debate, we all end up losing. Our minds either fill with an irritating buzz or convince us that some imaginary spotlight shines solely on us. Neither feeling adds value to anyone’s life, and it’s no surprise that we are all drowning in crises of depression and post-postmodern existentialism.

That said, whether I like it or not, it’s clear that extreme factions are here to stay, while centrists and moderates…
