Woman, Life, Freedom in Iran
This article will examine the fight that Iranian women are carrying on against the Iranian government. First, it is necessary to report about Mahsa Amini, a 22 year-old Kurdish woman who was arrested by morality police in Tehran on 13 September 2022, because she wasn’t wearing her hijab in the right way. We don’t know what happened at the police station, but, after only three days of coma, she died.
After that, lots of women around the world stood up for their rights, and, in order to protest against what occured to Masha, they cut themself a strand of hair. This act of rebellion has become the symbol of the movement whose name is “Woman, Life, Freedom”.
I’m honestly so proud of this battle, because it’s not that easy to express your own opinion everywhere, and, especially in Iran right now, it takes a lot of courage. Iranian women, I’m with you.
