About Covid Situation in India

The second wave of COVID-19 has become disastrous for India. The infection cases skyrocketed in just a few weeks from less than 15,000 to over 200,000 a day. On the 20th of April, India has reported the highest single-day spike — there were over 294 000 new cases and 2000 deaths from COVID-19 — taking the total number to nearly 2.15 million. The National Health System is extremely stressed across the country and is almost collapsing. There is a massive shortage of ICU beds, oxygen supplies, vaccines, and even spaces in cremation grounds. Any support will be very valuable in helping trusted local charities save the lives of people in India.
