Hey Grinners and Crypto fans, let’s talk about Grin magic! This project is unique; in my opinion, Grin is an essential project within the CryptoSphere — due to its beautiful mathematics and cryptography, blockchain, and art.

Grin is a phenomenon of privacy! Why is Grin so important? It provides a solution to millions of people suffering from the currently oppressive systems, financial monopolies, and destructive monetary system. It was requested by people, even if they don’t know about Grin yet. Still, it’s a massive request for Anonymity, Privacy, open and fair monetary architecture, and internet money for all humanity. Grin is one of the brightest solutions, and It has the qualities that can be compared with some masterpieces of art.

Here are the qualities of attributes of Grin that can also be used for art:

  • Grin is autonomous, independent from creators, inspiring the individuals for some emotions and actions. Bitcoin has it also but Grin much more in my view. The results of this inspiring — https://tmgox.com/product/grinoire-cypherpunk-anthology-book-pre-order/ and Lovely Grin Artwork. https://github.com/lovelygrin/artwork, https://tmgox.com/ that also became the part of this movement and artistic impression. It’s incredible!
  • The Mimblewimble protocol behind Grin and Grin itself is a pure idea. There was no pre-mine, and the developers are rewards through donations alone, along with the anonymity of the creator. All of this makes this crypto special.
  • The symmetry and beauty of mathematics and cryptography. 60 sec and 60 Grins. This is beauty.
  • Anonymity is hard to achieve, but Grin does it successfully.
  • Anyone can join the Grin any time without facing discrimination; the reward for mining the same as the first minutes, and no matter when you start — the mining reward will be the same. You can join and earn your part of Grin right now.
How Grin Works

Grin is one of the most promising privacy-centric cryptocurrencies. It is highly scalable and provides robust privacy features, making it cash-like in the digital world by enabling global peer-to-peer transfers. Grin’s design and technology allow transactions to be made confidentially whilst remaining secure in an efficiently secured decentralized mining network. Grin is based built upon MimbleWimble.

The introduction of Mimblewimble marks a notable milestone in blockchain history. The cut-through feature makes MW networks cheaper and easier to scale. Mimblewimble protocol may be implemented as a payment channel, allowing for more privacy and scalability.

It allows a blockchain to have a more compact history, which means it’s easier and faster to download, synchronize, and verify.

There are no identifiable or reusable addresses in an MW blockchain, meaning that all transactions look like random data to an outsider. The transaction data is only visible to their respective participants.

So, a Mimblewimble block looks like one large transaction rather than a combination of many. This means that blocks can be verified and confirmed, but they give no details about each transaction.

Consider the following example. Alice receives 5 Grin coins from her mom and five from her dad. Then, she sends those ten coins to Bob. The transactions are verified, but their details aren’t public. The only thing Bob knows is that Alice sent him ten Grin coins, but he can’t tell who previously sent those to Alice.

Mimblewimble blockchain only keeps the essential information — while also providing more privacy. The validators make sure that no unusual activity happens (e.g., double-spending) and that the amount of coins in circulation is accurate.

Mimblewimble removes the Bitcoin scripting system, a list of instructions that defines how transactions are structured. The script removal allowed MW blockchains to be more private and scalable. More private because addresses can’t be traced and more scalable because the blockchain data is smaller.

By removing unnecessary transaction data, Mimblewimble requires less computational resources.

Mimblewimble may be used as a sidechain solution attached to another parent chain as a Web3 concept. The MW design may also improve the performance of payment channels.

Slatepack is a universal transaction standard for Grin. It is designed to provide a single coherent transaction building framework to improve both the user and developer experiences in the Grin ecosystem.

Without a comprehensive transaction building flow, users and services are left to make their own complicated decisions about firewalls, file handling, and compatibility, risking their security, privacy, and sanity.

Slatepack is here to reach a simple, universal, adaptable, secure, and Privacy-preserving workflow standard for Grin transactions.

Users, developers, and services are no longer required to choose between many possible transaction methods to use and support: Slatepack is a universal Grin transaction standard.

The transport method decision now occurs automatically for the user by following the Slatepack standard. There are only one synchronous method and one asynchronous method supported by default to keep things simple for developers and support workers. Tor is the only synchronous transaction transport method that is currently supported in the Slatepack standard.

This happens “under the hood” by the wallet, and the user only has to keep track of a SlatepackAddress for their counterparty.

If Tor is not successful, the transaction process automatically falls back to using an encrypted copy and pastable SlatepackMessage string to complete the transaction asynchronously.

The asynchronous method by default is now a copy and pastable SlatepackMessage string instead of a file.

SlatepackMessage is an ASCII-armor string that supports encryption of its payload with a SlatepackAddress. The difference between synchronous and asynchronous transaction methods is abstracted away from the end-user with the Slatepack standard.

Some possible future Slatepack transactions may require more than two parties to build successfully. These cases should not require any breaking changes to the core Slatepack standard workflow.

Let’s check how Grin transactions really work, its very simple and private now. We have 2 popular wallets Grin++ on laptop and Ironbelly on mobile, let’s send some Grin privately. Lets check it

First we sent transaction form mobile wallet to mobile wallet with QR-code

Second transaction from Ironbelly to Grin++ wallet by Grin address

Grin is unique not only for technology. But for a sincere and open community. Generous donors. Here are the most exciting stories, but Grin have tons of them:

There is a mysterious Man Who Donated 100 BTC to the Grin team in 2 transactions of 50 BTC. This BTC was minted in 2 blocks in January 2010; the man who donated this 100 BTC is an early supporter of Bitcoin, some people think it was Satoshi, but it is probably not true. But it seems that the man who stands behind Mimblewimble and Grin’s creation may be the same person who donates this generous gift for the community, but nobody knows for sure. There are hundreds of contributes was made by public persons and anonymous. It also shows that it is not an ordinary project because it inspires people to act not ordinary.

I hope that the Council will be more active in supporting Grin’s activities; in the fast Crypto world, you need to be dynamic to survive.

The Future of Grin
  • Grin is the salvation, “safe haven money” and “fuck you money” simultaneously.
  • Probably Grin in future Anonymous Global Pool and Anonymous Hub, or unstoppable and huge crypto mixer connected to Web3 blockchains like Polkadot and Cosmos to allow the transfer of value from one blockchain to another, anonymously and covered. This may be the primary and unique purpose and specialty of the Grin in Future.
  • Grin ASIC future. ASICs here, and spread it around the world, not only in China, please. Grin G-1 mini is an excellent opportunity to have an efficient miner at home with the power of 20 good video cards. It is a cool device for fans; it needs only 100 watts — powerful mining and Grin node. Also, Grin can be connected to Proof of Stake networks to get more security, double security, and maybe some day become Parathread connected to Polkadot, for example.
  • Lightweight and simple blockchain just 1,8 GB. Node on mobiles is already implemented.
