DOTCon-0: Substrate workshop with Gavin Wood

Polkadot Co-Founder Gavin Wood and Parity Technologies Core Developer gave a workshop on Substrate at DotCon-0. In brief, Substrate is a technology that makes it quick and easy to build the perfect blockchain for your needs. Gavin live-launched a blockchain in minutes instead of days or weeks on stage at Web3 Summit.

This Dotcon-0 workshop includes explanations of how to write modules and deploy a chain using Substrate. Sergei also gives a demonstration on how to deploy a smart contract on the first smart contract platform built using Substrate (the BBQ Birch testnet).
