Web3 Foundation

Web3 Foundation has reached 300 grants milestone. Since the grants program was launched in December 2018, a total of 840 applications were received, of which 302 have been accepted. To date, 143 teams have already completed their projects and 212 have successfully delivered their first milestone. See the full list of accepted applications here.
Web3 Foundation’s General Grants Program and Open Grants Program have merged in order to simplify the application process. The new grants program now offers three different levels:

Level 1 for Individuals, up to $10,000

Level 2 for Small teams/start-ups, up to $50,000

Level 3 for Companies/foundations with a proven track record, Unlimited

Polkadot / Kusama

Polkadot has upgraded to runtime 9080.
The Polkadot Council has approved a motion to issue a proposal to increase the minimum amount of stake to nominate to 80 DOT. To be executed, it must be voted on by DOT holders in a referendum.
Voxel Bridge, the Kusama-Treasury-funded augmented reality project running on Kusama, has started. Link

Zenlink

Zenlink announced the second batch of ZenlinkDAO initial governance board members. The following organizations will become part of the ZenlinkDAO Initial Governance Board: we, Polkadot News, PolkaProject, and TRGC.

Together with other members, we will do our best to support ZenlinkDAO in its transition to a fully decentralized organization.

Bifrost

Bifrost Runtime upgraded to v0.8.1, slot auction rewards completed the distribution. Check your BNC.
Bifrost Parachain Mainnet is divided into 5 phases, the 1st phase has now completed. Preparing for the 2nd phase to enable the POA governance soon.

Moonbeam / Moonriver

Moonbeam Network presented the “Take Flight” community token event (sales). The event aims to allocate GLMR tokens (8% of initial supply) to loyal supporters. The Take Flight event will start on September 7th and will pass with 3 rounds.

Moonriver Crowdloan supporters as well as other key project supporters can sign-up for Round 1 , while members of Moonbeam Telegram, Discord and other groups can sign up for Round 2.

Moonbeam announced the deployment of its Meter Passport bridge on Moonriver. The bridge will connect the Moonriver parachain and Kusama to ETH, BSC, Polygon and Meter, allowing the free movement of assets across the independent networks.

Phala / Khala

88.3 million reserved ERC20-PHA have been transferred to Khala Network through the Ethereum Khala Bridge by the Phala team. More details in G.Sheet

Crust

On August 12th, the Crust mainnet entered the public access phase. Nodes are now allowed to join, and $CRU transfers are enabled. Crust mainnet is expected to be launching at the beginning of September, and will open more functions at that time.

Kilt

Kilt has presented updated KILT token metrics. Total supply at the Token Generation Event is 150M pre-minted KILT. Initial circulating supply: 32.5M. The remaining pre-minted coins will be gradually unlocked over a period of 6 to 60 months.
Kilt’s Initial inflation will be around 5% per annum, dropping to 1% per annum within the first 6 years and then slowly moving towards 0%. There would be only one Kilt network and one KILT coin for Kusama and Polkadot. More on Kilt Token Economy
KILT has reserved 4.5M KILT as rewards for future crowdloan supporters. Parachain will launch with activated functionality — staking for collators and delegators. Thus the first phase of staking will be possible on KILT from genesis.

Sora

Users can now search, verify and analyze data on the SORA network through the Sora Subscan explorer.

Acala / Karura

Build Acala Network: Ready the Treasury event began on 15th of August. This is an event for Acala’s global community to fund the Acala Treasury, an on-chain reserve of digital tokens co-owned and managed by ACA network owners. The Treasury will prepare Acala for long-term network self-sustainability and growth.

The event will pass with 2 rounds. To participate in the first round users must be verified and: hold Acala Old Friend NFT or be Build Acala #1 verified user, but not participate. Public round is open for every verified community member.

Primary Token Symbol: ACA (Acala’s native token)

Gift Token Symbol: KAR (Karura’s native token). For every 10 ACA distributed, 1 KAR will also be distributed to the same account used to participate in the event (10:1 ratio given the 10:1 token supply relationship between Acala and Karura).
Registration Date: 1pm UTC on Sunday, 15th August (now closed)
Round #1 Old Friends: 1pm UTC on Monday, 30th August (48 hours)
Round #2 Open Community: 1pm UTC on Thursday, 2nd September
ACA Token Supply: fixed non-inflationary supply of 1,000,000,000 ACA
