Polkamarkets Uniswap Migration to V3
To celebrate the Uniswap update and migration to V3, we are increasing our monthly rewards on the Uniswap Liquidity Providers Program:
Highlights:
- The POLK/ETH Uniswap market will migrate to Uniswap V3
- Our Uniswap Liquidity Program will migrate to Uniswap V3
- LPs do NOT need to remove liquidity tokens from V2 to make the transition to V3; they can simply follow the migration step-by-step guide provided by Uniswap.
- The POLK Uniswap Liquidity Rewards will continue during the migration process, regardless of whether your liquidity is on V2 or V3

Upgrading Polkamarkets’ Uniswap Liquidity to V3
Uniswap is a great decentralised exchange. Like all things in tech, it’s constantly under development and getting better with each iteration. This Uniswap V3 focused on providing Liquidity Providers with more flexibility and more options for their liquidity provision. In the previous version of Uniswap (V2), LPs were forced to provide liquidity across the entire price curve, regardless of volume. Clearly, providing liquidity at the extreme ends of the price curve (like what all other dexes do) is inefficient, considering that the price of a token rarely goes to zero or infinity. In Uniswap V3, LPs can now specify where on the price curve they want to provide liquidity to. This is tremendously helpful to LPs because then they can choose to be LPs where they believe the most volume will occur.
Polkamarkets has upgraded to Uniswap V3 in order to allow our LPs more flexibility and control over where they provide their liquidity on the price curve. Different LPs can adopt different liquidity provision strategies to maximize their returns while minimizing risk across the price curve. In aggregate, we believe that this migration will yield greater depth and more efficient price discovery for POLK.
