New name, new products, the same mission — to save the honey bees worldwide

You might be wondering what is Pollenity and how exactly did you end up following it. Truth is, we’ve changed our name. Does Bee Smart Technologies ring a bell? Well, that’s us! We’re still the same team, working towards saving the bees through our IoT technology! For the past couple of months, we’ve been tirelessly working on our rebranding, and it’s not because we didn’t like our old name. We wanted to get closer to you — the individuals who could make a global impact from their backyard. But how, you may ask. Well, keep on reading!

Our mission has always been to help the beekeepers keep healthier and more productive bees and we believed that the key is the commercial beekeepers that have huge pollination operations across the U.S. It turned out that these guys aren’t quite ready to change their business practices and to incorporate new technologies in what looked to them a well-working and profitable operation. So we had to ask ourselves, what can we do to help the honey bee populations on a global scale when the beekeeping industry is not the answer… And we thought of you guys — all the people around the world that care about our planet Earth and want to help preserve our nature and the ecosystems that compose it.

We’ve decided to reinvent ourselves and to shift from the commercial beekeepers to the small, hobby and even inexperienced bees enthusiasts. We want to help them help the bees thanks to the advantages that the new technologies provide. Pollenity comes from pollination. We know how important the bees are for the pollination of all plants (and also one-third of our food), and we want more people to be able to help this natural process by becoming beekeepers.

Our products are designed to measure and analyze the processes inside the beehives and to give the beekeeper recommendations on how to improve the health and productivity status of the colony. In other words, we lead the ‘newbees’ through every step of the process of becoming a beekeeper and empower experienced beekeepers to take better care of their bees, all thanks to our sensor technology.

And before you say that you don’t have a backyard to put your beehives in, we’d like to let you know that bees are doing perfectly fine in the city as well, and you can even place them on your rooftop! In fact, they may even produce better honey than their countryside sisters, as they will be exposed to a more diverse flora — from the dandelion in the parks, through the plants on your neighbor’s balcony, to the chestnuts planted on the sidewalk.

So here we are — Pollenity — ready to help you help the bees! And are you ready to become part of the solution?
