Winter Walk

A poem by Tyra Audlehelm
Come and celebrate the Winter Solstice.
Dance through the woods and be joyful among it.
Sing a cheerful Yuletide tune,
Giving light to the night as if it were noon.
Treat forest creatures and let them be merry.
String up apple, orange, and cranberry.
The woods now are white, brown, and green.
The gray squirrels scamper and the red birds preen.
Though this long night seems that it may never end,
We know come the morn the sun will shine bright again.
So while this cold season can be dreary and dark,
Let’s sit cozy ‘round the fire watching it spark.
Yuletide blessings to you and yours closest
As we celebrate this Winter Solstice.
