ETH bounces back after news of The Merge’s launch date
As the launch of its Beacon Chain draws near, Ethereum’s price climbed over the weekend, trading at $1,458 at the time of writing. Ethereum developers confirmed that the process of migrating the consensus mechanism from Proof-of-work (PoW) to Proof-of-stake (PoS), widely known as The Merge, is on the right track although no final date was confirmed yet in a conference call held last week. One of the developers, superphiz.eth, tweeted about the roadmap after the meeting, and the minutes showed that no one opposed September 19 as The Merge’s tentative target date, which also implied that the highly-anticipated event will happen at around that time without further ado.
Snoop Dogg says the crypto winter weeded out bad NFT actors
Snoop Dogg, prominent American rapper and investor, said in an exclusive interview at the NFT.NYC conference that the crypto winter weeded out those who were abusing the NFT space and that only great projects would remain when the market bounces back. Besides Snoop, Hugh Jackman is another big star who has jumped on the NFT bandwagon to raise funds for an eco-friendly NFT music marketplace called Serenade.

Latin America and the Metaverse
Commissioned by the World Economic Forum, market research firm Ipsos’s latest survey showed that half of respondents across 29 countries say they are familiar with the Metaverse (52%) and have positive feelings about engaging with extended reality (XR) in daily life (50%). Futhermore, the findings indicated that emerging countries are significantly more receptive towards the digital innovations than their developed counterparts, especially those from Latin America (LATAM) countries.

- Hubble Protocol’s USDH is backed at least 150% by a basket of decentralized crypto assets including SOL, mSOL, BTC, ETH, RAY, SRM, and FTT
- Hubble Protocol is an innovative DeFi protocol built on Solana. Users can deposit multiple assets to mint USDH at 90.9% LTV, yield positive interest on collateral deposits, provide liquidity and on top of that users can hold and stake HBB, the protocol’s native token
- Frax is the world’s first fractional-algorithmic stablecoin and the Frax Protocol introduced the world to the concept of a cryptocurrency being partially backed by collateral and partially stabilized algorithmically
- Meshswap decides autonomously which liquidity pool to distribute more MESH rewards through MESH Staker Voting. Earn financial returns with MESH, a strong governance token distributed in the form of a fair launch without private sale or presale
- Project Galaxy (GAL) is an Ethereum token that powers Project Galaxy, a network for on- and off-chain credentials, and it can be used to pay for access to credential data, to validate the network, and to cast a vote on the future of the network
- FitFi (Fitness Finance) is at the cross-section of making the physical and the digital; it’s a culmination of a very physical experience (fitness) within the metaverse, through the use of NFTs and geo-location technology
- DAR is an Ethereum token that powers a play-to-earn game, named Mines of Dalarnia, and can be used to upgrade items, trade on the NFT marketplace and to vote
- USDD circulates on TRON, Ethereum, BSC, and other networks via the cross-chain protocol BitTorrent Chain. Similar to TRC20-USDT, it caters to users’ needs by offering them a fast and affordable experience on TRON
- Hunters Dream is a decentralized financial payment network and uses a basket of stablecoin pegged to legal currencies to stabilize the algorithm through its reserve currency caw
- CEEK virtual reality environments are governed by Smart Contracts, allowing token holders ability for flexible, tokenized ‘in-world’ interactions, rewards, voting, contests, virtual goods and more ‘in-world’ transactions utilizing BEP20 compliant Tokens called CEEK
Futures
Cosmos Hub (ATOM), Hedera (HBAR), Stellar (XLM)
- ATOM is the native token of Cosmos while HBAR is the native and energy-efficient cryptocurrency of Hedera. Meanwhile, XLM is Stellar, the decentralized exchange’s token.
Algorand Perpetual (ALGO-PERP)
- Algo is the native token of the Algorand blockchain, which can be used to secure the consensus used in building each block, pay for every transaction and govern the Algorand ecosystem
- Elrond is running the energy efficient Secure Proof of Stake consensus mechanism. Validators and Delegators stake eGold to secure the network and earn rewards
NEAR Protocol Perpetual (NEAR-PERP)
- Through simple, secure, and scalable technology, NEAR empowers millions to invent and explore new experiences. Business, creativity, and community are being reimagined for a more sustainable and inclusive future.
- STEPN is a Web3 lifestyle app with social-fi and game-fi elements and players can make earnings, named GMT, by walking, jogging or running outdoors
- APE is a token made to support what’s next, controlled and built on by the community. It will serve as a decentralized protocol layer for community-led initiatives that drive culture forward into the metaverse.
