Poly Network AMA Recap with Astar

A multi-chain L1 smart contract platform, Astar(@AstarNetwork), was invited to Poly Network (@PolyNetwork2) AMA, taken place on September 22 in the Poly Network Telegram Community. From the Live AMA with Rudy Wicaksono, Community Leader on Astar SpaceLabs, this recap fully grasps the information discussed during the AMA.

Poly Network is a global cross-chain protocol for implementing blockchain interoperability and building Web3.0 infrastructure. Poly Network has integrated 30+ blockchains, including Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche, Fantom, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Optimism, HECO, OKC, Neo, Ontology, Zilliqa, Harmony, Metis, etc. Since its launch, the protocol has enabled cross-chain asset transfers of more than USD 16 billion.

Astar Network is a multi-chain L1 smart contract platform that supports multiple blockchain and virtual machines, such as WebAssembly (WASM) and Ethereum Virtual Machine(EVM). Astar is a parachain on top of Polkadot Relay Network, which lets us easily integrate with other parachains.

Q1 Can you explain more regarding Dapp Staking?

A: Dapp Staking is one of Astar’s unique feature, for users it is a place to stake their ASTR on their favorite dApp dan developer team get a portion depending how much they can attract users to stake their ASTR with them. This will help devs to keep innovating so they can always attract users to stake with them.

Q2 Why did Astar Network choose to develop Web Assembly (WASM) too? Can you tell me more about it ?

A: Ethereum Virtual Machine is the most popular VM currently, but according to us, EVM has many limitations. And those limits practically prevent dApp devs from developing more complex dApp. That’s why we choose to build our infrastructure on WebAssembly too, it is more future proof, and by this way, we believe that massive adoption will happen. In order to do that, we need to onboard as many devs first, that’s why we develop XVM too!

Q3 Could you tell me more about XVM?

A: XVM is Cross Virtual Machine, which is one of our goals in our roadmap. Simple explanation, it lets a developer to make an EVM-based contract can call a WASM-based contract and vice versa. Q4 Why did Astar choose Poly Network among others for partnership?

A: We believe in massive adoption, as Poly Network is already connected with many protocols. We believe that this collaboration will bring users from both sides. And brings web3.0 adoption closer.

Q5 Any exciting plan for future developments? What shall users expect?

A: We are expecting dapp from other protocols expanding to our ecosystem, and also we are expecting that native dapp (such ArthSwap or Starlay) from our ecosystem expanding to other protocol’s ecosystem with this collaboration.

The AMA with Astar was successfully concluded. We will have more AMAs coming in the following weeks. Please stay tuned!
