The collectible crypto game, BCU(@BlockchainCutie), was invited to Poly Network (@PolyNetwork2) AMA, taken place on 30 December in the Poly Network Telegram Community. From the Live AMA with Tehn, CM at BCU, this recap fully grasps the information discussed during the AMA.

GUEST INTRODUCTION

Moderator: Poly Network is a groundbreaking heterogeneous interoperability protocol alliance, which has already integrated Bitcoin, Ethereum, Neo, Ontology, Heco, BSC, OKExChain, Arbitrum, Polygon, Elrond, and Cosmos-SDK, and aims to build the foundation for Next-gen Internet (NGI) by enabling greater integration, cooperation, and innovation. Since the launch, the protocol has reached total trade volume of more than $15 billion USD involving more than 294K cross-chain addresses on different blockchains.

Tehn: Blockchain Cuties Universe is a collectable crypto game with adventures where you can play with puppies, lizards, bear cubs, cats and other real and fantasy creatures alike. Each cutie is unique and 100% belongs to you. You can collect them, breed them, test their skills in battles, arm them and even level them up! In-game economy lets you trade cuties using smart contracts on the blockchain. Each cutie, which is an NFT, can be transferred or sold to other players just like a regular cryptocurrency on the blockchain. And the game supports a whopping 6 blockchains that allow players to use all of them at the same time and create value using them.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS IN LIVE AMA

Q1: Six blockchains seems like a lot to take in for a newcomer, how does that work?

Tehn: Yes, if you take it all in at the same time, it’s going to be overwhelming. But no one has to start with all 6. Doing a little bit of research on the blockchains that are supported, already will help out to pick your first one that you can start on. Best transactional costs are on HECO, EOS, and TRON right now. So looking into those would be the best way to start.
Picking just one blockchain will not make you locked into one side of the game though, that is the best part. The blockchain only limits you in a few ways: Cutie breeding/siring,Item and Cutie trading through the market, and blockchain item use (i.e. in the game there is a potion that lowers the Cutie’s breeding cooldown, which is stored on the blockchain, and therefore will need a transaction to be made on the blockchain for that cuties cooldown to be lowered).

The game mechanics themselves are much less reliant on blockchain transactions. You can fight in adventures against any other players from all of the blockchains to farm gear for your Cuties, participate in Raid Bosses, and use the Forge to craft items, without being limited by the blockchain of your choosing. Very soon we are planning to expand with more gameplay options for the players by adding a new game mode where players will be able to use their Cuties to fight their way through dungeons full of treasure!

Q2: It’s been an interesting year for NFTs. How did BCU fare during 2021?

Tehn: For sure, the year was anything but calm for everyone in the industry. We have launched a governance token $BCUG and are steadily updating the game to have more and more use cases for the token, following along the outlined plan from our whitepaper. The whitepaper can be found here: https://blockchaincuties.finance/
The team have been making great progress in gamifying content for the players to enjoy the process of grinding for gear, trading, and competing in tournaments. Along all of that, we have introduced a new system using off-chain wallets for the players, to avoid some of the transactional costs, which can be quite a haul if you consider a blockchain with big fees like ETH.

Now, the team and the players are preparing another long-awaited release of the update for the in-game market, that will make it a much more transparent experience for the players, and will help everyone to gauge item prices a lot better.

Q3: Why several blockchains? Why not use just the one and stick to it?

Tehn: Limiting the ecosystem to one market is not the best idea. The community responded very well to the first additional blockchain that we have added to the game. That blockchain was EOS. Since Ethereum has had throughput issues, a lot of blockchain game projects started to struggle to retain player’s activity, as the prices to make any move in a blockchain game became exceedingly expensive.

With the addition of a new blockchain, it sort of alleviated the struggle and allowed players to play the game without paying through their nose for every breath they take in a game. Where it was apparent that it is the way to go was the integration of the Tron blockchain. It boasted nearly 0 cost in fees for the players, it was super fast compared to most other blockchains at the time, and while it was a bit different, it was a breath of fresh air for everyone. And it still is one of the most active blockchains in the game, nearly 3 years later.

As you can see, the interoperability of the blockchains within one game can bring up a wider community, with many different values, and at the same time expand each other’s horizons on what blockchain technology can bring in different use cases, especially in the gaming side of things.

Q4: Why did BCU choose Poly Network among others for partnership?

Tehn: Poly Network came in highly recommended by our partners from HECO and NEO. Poly Network does a lot of things with cross-blockchain support that perfectly fits with the game! Seamless blockchain interoperability is something that has been on the horizon for a long time now for BCU, and we believe working with Poly Network can bring BCU to the next level in terms of ability to play on several chains at the same time, with minimal effort from the players.

Q5: Any exciting plan for future developments? What shall players expect?

Tehn: We plan to support $BCUG on various chains, so Poly Network will help us out in all of those cases.

AMA EVENTS TOP QUESTIONS

Note: 15 questions were chosen and answered by the AMA guest during the 3 AMA Events, with a total of $500 AMA Rewards to be distributed.

Q1: Are you afraid some day there will be another project with more innovative technology can replace your project ?

Tehn: No, why would we? We have been on the forefront for years, developing absolutely never-done-before things for blockchain solutions for the game. We are confident in what we do and why we do it. There’s many ways one can see “successful” or “innovative”, and if you start to question yourself all the time, instead of developing forward, you will be left behind. It’s up to you to keep up. :)

But specifically about us, there’s always something going on in the game, we’re the most updated project in the industry. We’re agile, flexible, and very curious about what’s going on around.

Q2: Do you feel satisfied seeing your progresses and achievements till now, when you look back to the day when you have started this project?

Tehn: Yes, if you would open the 2018 game, and today, it’s day and night. Team had some interesting learning opportunities along the way, generating a lot of knowledge most projects in the industry haven’t even seen yet. 3 and a half years of pure developer adventuring in a new and unexplored industry. There’s something very exciting in walking around a dark room of the industry, trying things and making things happen. Not a lot of places can compete with that nowadays.

Q3: Did you consider community feedback/requests during the creation of your product in order to expand on fresh ideas for your project? Many projects fail because the target audience and clients are not understood. So I’d like to know who your ideal consumer is for your product?

Tehn: Blockchain Cuties Universe has been built on community relations and constant communication/discussion. There wouldn’t be us without the community. So the community is also a part of us. Day-in, Day-out. It’s all about who talked to whom and what we read in chats or online from the community. It’s a significant part of the team’s culture. We build for the community.

Q4: The crypto industry is a fast-paced industry, how flexible is your Project to change quickly and keep pace with technology trends? What is your long-term vision for the forecasting industry in which the your Project project operates?

Tehn: We’ve always been one of the most agile teams out there. We have a vision, but if we see something that can broaden the team’s experience, add to the product, or make the game better in any significant way, we investigate and if considered seriously, we sometimes can do things that are not in the schedule. It has to be good though.

Q5: Can you share your opinion about Defi & NFT ? What makes your NFTs rare and special?

Tehn: Unlike most of the NFT’s out there. Our game assets actually have utility, there is an extensive list of use cases within the game that can net you revenue. And you don’t even have to SELL your Cuties. The 99.9999% of NFT copy-paste projects out there sell you the same thing over and over again. NFT’s are perfect for game projects, but many don’t know how to lead an economy for those games, just yet. That’s what we are exploring for the last 2 years, very excessively!

And with each update, there’s more to do with your NFTs.

The AMA with BCU was joyfully concluded. We have one more AMA scheduled next week. Please stay tuned!
