Poly Network AMA Recap With CryptoBlades
The blockchain game, CryptoBlades (@BladesCrypto), was invited to Poly Network (@PolyNetwork2) AMA，taken place on 24th November in the Poly Network Telegram Community. From the Live AMA with Lodie Gubbels , CM of CryptoBlades, this recap fully restore the information discussed during the AMA.
GUEST INTRODUCTION
Moderator: Poly Network is a groundbreaking heterogeneous interoperability protocol alliance, which has already integrated Bitcoin, Ethereum, Neo, Ontology, Heco, BSC, OKExChain, Arbitrum, Polygon, Elrond, and Cosmos-SDK, and aims to build the foundation for Next-gen Internet (NGI) by enabling greater integration, cooperation, and innovation. Since the launch, the protocol has reached total trade volume of more than $14 billion USD involving more than 270K cross-chain addresses on different blockchains.
Lodie: CryptoBlades is an NFT creation game that runs on Binance Smart Chain (BSC). It is web-based, and users need to play the game on CryptoBlades’ official website. Players employ powerful weapons to defeat opponents and collect SKILL tokens, which can be used for upgrades and to level up characters.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS IN LIVE AMA
Q1: Could you share with us the founding story of CryptoBlades? What makes this game special in the metaverse than other blockchain games?
Lodie: CryptoBlades was founded by Philip Devine and a small group of developers. Philip has been a lifelong player of sports, board games, and video games. It was always his dream to work on and help design video games. At university he studied computer science and founded a game design club. From there he worked in various sectors, but always had his eye on game design. This led him to starting Riveted Games, which has produced award winning games that launched on Steam. Meanwhile he kept his eye on the crypto space, always learning and started to see the opportunities for NFT gaming. It was not long after that CryptoBlades was started and launched in May of this year.
I think what makes CryptoBlades special is that it has gone through its ups and its downs and is better for it. Very early on we saw some amazing growth. I believe it was something like 5000 users to 500000 users over the course of 2 weeks. People were extremely excited about our project and we were very excited to see it become so popular. However, we did not anticipate this kind of growth and there were some growing pains. We are about to launch our “Rewards are Back” campaign on Friday. This focuses on an increase in the rewards being given out, an NFT bridge that will allow users to transport their characters and swords between the five chains we are on (BSC, Heco, OEC, Polygon, and Avalanche), and some discounts in our store. The game is structured in a manner that is healthy for the long run and we have so so sooooo many great things still on the horizon.
Q2: How shall our members get started to play your game？Any incentive events recently?
Lodie: Getting started is easy actually. All you need is a little bit of SKILL token and the native token for the chain you are on for gas. Then in the game you can recruit your first character and forge your first weapon. After that you’re ready to get started fighting enemies in combat or working with others to take down raid bosses.
We do have a big sale coming up starting this Friday and continuing through Monday called the Black Friday Frenzy. Users will be able to recruit characters and forge weapons for 25% off. It would be the ideal time for someone to get started.
Q3: Could you tell us more details about your SKILL Tokens and NFTs?
Lodie: SKILL is the token of CryptoBlades. It is the currency that is used to make purchases in game and is what you earn when successful in combat. The economy of the game is driven by SKILL.
There are a handful of NFTs in CryptoBlades. The main two types are your characters and your swords. Characters come in one of four elemental alignments (fire, water, earth, and lightning) and can level up to become stronger and stronger. Swords can also have one of the four elemental alignments and can be reforged with the dust from other blades to make them stronger and stronger as well. These two are needed for combat and raids within CryptoBlades. Another set of NFTs in the game are the shields. Their use will be in PvP, which is currently being tested and should be released soon.
Q4: Why did CryptoBlades choose Poly Network among others for partnership?
Lodie: Poly Network has shown themselves to be at the forefront of interoperability and, as a project that is on multiple chains, we were very excited for the partnership. We have been very impressed with their team’s responsiveness and knowledge. Truly a pleasure.
Q5: Any roadmap for future developments of CryptoBlades？What shall players expect?
Lodie: Probably the biggest thing that is coming up is the Rewards are Back campaign that is launching on Friday. It’s going to be awesome. Earnings playing the game will be cranked up and there will be discounts on NFTs. So whether you are jumping back in or just getting started, it’s a great time to play CryptoBlades.
Other than that we have the NFT bridge also launching Friday, PvP testing that will be open to a fairly large pool of users, some major user interface updates coming, and our follow up game, CryptoBlades: Kingdoms. CBK has an alpha targeted for some modules in Q1, but will be a Clash of Clans style game with a play-to-earn element as well. It’s going to be unlike anything in the DeFi gaming space. Truly revolutionary.

Q1: Are you planning your project in the future in a country or region where English is not good? Do you have a local community for them to better understand your project? If yes, please share with us?
Lodie: We have been for a while now actually! We have opened up many regional chats in our discord server! Quite recently we have opened up a bigger community project for the Indonesian and Chinese community! We are aware not everyone is fluent in the English language, and we want everyone to feel welcomed in our project! We have our own staff at hand to help you in your native language ^^

Q2: Staking, NFT is very hottest, do you think you will apply NFT technology to your products in the achieved future?
Lodie: We will most definitely do this! We will open more opportunities for people to stake their assets in our game, and our upcoming game CBK. This will enable our players to have a wide variety of choices!
