Finding Your Unique Place in the World of Open Relationships
We tend to think of relationships in extremes: monogamous or polyamorous. But imagine these as opposite ends of a vast, colorful scale. Between them lies an infinite spectrum of possibilities, a whole universe of ways to relate and connect. It’s about finding where you and your partner fit on that spectrum and embracing the freedom to shift and change over time.
This journey of discovery has been all about experimentation and listening to my body’s subtle cues. Remember that massage workshop? That was our first cautious step into this wider world. Initially, we weren’t setting out to revolutionize our relationship; we just wanted to see how it felt to be in that space together. And surprisingly, it felt okay. That first spark of comfort opened up new possibilities.
The next question was deeper: “How would we feel if we touched someone else?” Would jealousy rear its ugly head? Surprisingly, it didn’t. Instead, there was a sense of calm and shared trust. This feeling paved the way for something a little bolder — giving or receiving a massage in that safe, exploratory environment.
