Equilibrium: The seed is in the soil waiting for alchemy’s inevitable tug toward the light.

The Nine of Wands

This is a battle-weary young man we see standing on the road grasping his hard-won wand, gripped firmly, like he is ready to do battle again if need be. His bandaged head and the wary, serious look on his face combine to show how precious is victory when the cause is great!

All the wands are burgeoning with new growth. This is a good thing, is it not?

And the sky is a perfect, tranquil blue.

Still, I have a strong feeling of futurity with this card.

This is a courageous young man, not afraid of a worthwhile battle, like the ones he fought before and won. But as he gazes up or down the road, he has a grim look of readiness on his face.

The numbers are telling.

First, we have the young man, himself, grasping the wand. (We can almost feel the tension in his grip.) The single wand is Active, as is his mental set, his attitude. If I were a robber on the road, I would pass him by with a nod and a smile.
