To all who are below them, there is only one Queen and one King. There are none higher. In Medieval times many wily opportunists waited in the wings to descry a chink in the Queen’s or King’s power structure so they could rush in and overthrow the monarchy. This is why a strong, courageous, and always loyal, Knight and his retinue played so prominently in the Kingdom’s infrastructure.

As you interpret the Queen and King in the Tarot, you should keep the transitoriness of power in the Kingdom at the back of your mind.

Queen of Wands

The first thing one notices in the Queen is her youthful, rather androgynous features. Yet her demeanor is anything but frivolous. She is confident and her strength seems to radiate out from her.

A sense of balance reigns in this card. She holds the wand of all levels of knowledge in her right hand, with fresh growth emerged from its end, and in her left hand, she holds a sunflower, whose symbolism is…
