The Challenge you’ve all been waiting for is here! Last year, we announced that the Honor Leaderboard winners from each country will get to join a Global Innovation Challenge the following year. That time has come!

The Honor Leaderboard winners of previous challenges will be considered for the Global Innovation Challenge 2021!

Past challenge winners can submit machines that will be reviewed by the PolyUp Team for the Global Innovation Challenge: Creativity Leaderboard!

The goal of the machine is to innovate an exciting machine that can help new students when they join PolyUp and play a machine for the first time. There are two goals of the machine: 1) to help students learn how to get started playing Poly machines and 2) to have a machine that is interesting, visually appealing, and fun enough that it makes them want to play more machines!

  • Create a machine or edit an existing machine to be submitted
  • Choose a grade range that the machine is helping to onboard: 1st — 2nd grades, 3rd — 5th grades, or 6th — 11th grades.
  • The machine must teach students how to use and modify a turtle chip.
  • Use a portal chip to connect as many as five machines together (you will submit one machine, but the portal chip can connect a sequence of machines together so a player knows to go on to the next machine following the first one)
  • You can optionally use a youtube chip in your machine to guide students for how to play but ideally the machine should guide students without requiring video instruction.
  • Read the Machine Ranking questions to see how the judges will be scoring machines.

Here is an example of a machine used to onboard new students to PolyUp. Play this machine (designed for 3rd to 12th grade players) to inspire your own submission: https://polyup.com/machine/MNTJT79
