You know that POMO is fast and free to send, but we are only just getting started…

The release of the Pomodoro token (POMO) has received a fantastic reception from the TomoChain community with hundreds of drops requested in the first few days of launch. This article sets out the plan the project, how it will help drive awareness of TomoChain and how you can help.

The purpose of POMO

The points below explain why POMO can play an important role in the larger TomoChain ecosystem:

  • Awareness: Pomodoro tokens are free to claim and free to share thanks to the awesome TomoZ protocol. Being free, community members can direct others to TomoWallet and the POMO drop site, allowing them to try TomoChain for themselves without needing TOMO tokens.
  • Play: One of the core aims of the project is to see POMO integrated into every area of the TomoChain ecosystem - including TomoX and dapps. Being free, holders of POMO could have access to the full TomoChain experience without needing any TOMO (aside from any TomoX/dapp fees).
  • Utility: POMO aims to be a special token within TRC21 market. With TomoX we will see a large number of quality decentralised exchanges able to handle TRC21 tokens. POMO aims to position itself as a leading token for exchange with other TRC21 tokens.

Token Distribution

One of the challenges any project faces is how to distribute it’s tokens fairly to a large number of holders. This section outlines how this is being achieved, and how the tokens will be used.

Stage 1: Soft token drop

If you are reading this medium article, it is likely that you have already claimed your 1000 $POMO from the drop site. This method of drop has been chosen as the primary distribution route for the first 1,000 holders, though the drop site will remain open until the allocation is exhausted (see below).

Stage 2: Lottery drop

In celebration of TomoX, Pomodoro has decided to accelerate the distribution of $POMO through a lottery. The aim of this is to increase the number of holders and to help ensure high liquidity of the token.

Full details of the lottery will be released in the near future — but we recommend sharing $POMO with as many other people as possible. Pomodoro aims to reward those who join the project early :-)

Stage 3: Community rewards

Growing the TomoChain ecosystem is a priority. Pomodoro will help drive awareness through rewarding community engagement. Challenges will be set and rewards issued for those who spread awareness and build dapps incorporating $POMO. The more you help, the more $POMO you’ll earn!

Token allocation

Whilst predicting exact numbers is difficult, the following outlines the current intention for the token allocation. Please note that this may change with time, so make sure you follow us for future updates:

Total Tokens: 1,000,000,000 POMO

Soft token drop via drop site: 50,000,000 POMO

Lottery drop: 250,000,000 POMO

Rewards: 150,000,000 POMO

Funding transfers (subject to POMO/TOMO pairing*): 100,000,000 POMO

Future Projects (To Be Announced): 450,000,000 POMO

*Although POMO transfers are free for holders, a network fee still applies which must be paid in TOMO. Although TomoChain is incredibly efficient and fees very low, Pomodoro will still require a supply of TOMO to remain free. At present, the current intention is to either seek a POMO/TOMO exchange pair (allowing POMO to be bought/sold for TOMO) or to request donations to the TRC21 fee fund from the community.

Roadmap

Every project needs a roadmap to explain how it intends to achieve it’s aims and Pomodoro is no different. Please be aware that roadmaps are living artefacts that do (and should) evolve over time, though the principles of what they set out to achieve are generally constant.

Q4 2019

  • Start of token distribution to early POMO adopters via drop site.
  • Token Lottery launch
  • TomoX exchange integration**

Q1 2020

  • Growth of POMO usage by dapps
  • TOMO/POMO exchange**

Q2 2020 onwards — TBC

**Much of Pomodoro’s roadmap is dictated by that of the wider TomoChain ecosystem and as such the dates above are purely indicative and will be revised as/when more information becomes available.
