The Great POMQA Writing Prompt

People of Medium, or POMQA as it is lovingly known, is a community of writers connecting on Slack. Our little group has grown to over 300 members across 20 time zones and has daily conversations about writing, publishing, Medium, and writing opportunities. We also have an occasional Giphy party where things get weird.

Our lively discussions, however, exist offsite in Slack. Now, we’re bringing some of the wit and words of our Medium writers back home.

It’s time for the Great POMQA Writing Prompt!

Some Medium writing prompts ask you to leave a response on a topic, but not us. We are a diverse group and therefore we have a diverse writing prompt. Our prompt is simple:

Step 1: Go to the Medium homepage and look at the featured tags.

Step 2: Pick a tag that interests you.

Step 3: Write something about that tag.

Step 4: At the bottom of your story, place the following text:

This story is part of the Great POMQA Writing Prompt. Join us in the People of Medium on Slack.

Step 5: Publish your story with the tag you wrote about, POMQA, and anything else that fits your story. Feel free to submit your story to any publication you’d like. And don’t forget to link it in POMQA’s #brags channel.

That’s it. We want to see your unique voice come through on any topic you find interesting. We mainly want to see what our varied and diverse community has to say.
