your computer warned you

your computer warned you

but you didn’t listen

and so the computer crashed

with 28 tabs open

and an endless

an endless

an endless

news cycle

it’s like the feeling of

attending the funeral of a summer camp friend

on a 70 degree day in December

none of it is right

but you breathe

and with skin rubbed raw

you draw new life

but

yes and

still life

you try

beyond the edges of the filter

yes and you breathe

but then

she told you

being a woman is the hardest thing she’s ever done

and he said it’s hard just being a person

still you wonder

what’s the cure for feeling

so fucking old

but what’s the cure

for feeling so damn young

yes and

you breathe

you’re not very good at making your bed

but you do it anyway

you try

because it’s yours

you remember pictures

that have expired from snapchat

you don’t always

need all the words

and sometimes disconnecting

makes you connect, even still

and it doesn’t need to start or end

it just is
