Whistler is a world-renowned mountain resort with one major challenge: it’s expensive to get there from Vancouver!

Flo Devellennes (Pop CEO) and Sylvain Celaire (Modo Business Development Manager) take the road to Whistler.

If you’re planning a trip to Whistler from the city, expect to dish out up to $50 per person just to get there. Oh, and you can also forget about those fresh tracks if you’re taking the bus.

Don’t worry- we have a solution!

Step 1: Book a car with Vancouver’s local car-share: Modo. Using one of Modo’s 500 vehicles for a 24 hour period will cost you about $75, gas and insurance included.

To sweeten the deal, sign up through our partner page and get $50 of free driving credit with Modo.

Pick a convenient drop-off location in Whistler, like a hotel.

Tip: Filter through Modo’s vehicle list to find a vehicle with snow tires, we recommend minivans so you have plenty of space for skis!

Step 2: Post your empty Modo seats on Pop Rideshare. At $13 per seat, filling just 3 seats in your Modo each way will give you $78. Use the few extra dollars to treat your passengers to some Timbits!

By posting your trip on Pop you crowdsource your Modo costs.

Tip: Make your Pop profile stand out: post a photo with a smile, write a cool description and add your Modo vehicle. Tell others you’re going to Whistler and wait for the bookings to come in!

Step 3: Pick up some snacks, download your favourite Spotify playlist and go pick up your passengers. Get ready for a car filled with the stoke to go skiing, fun talks and new potential snow buddies. Don’t forget to wave at the bus as you pass it on the highway!

Make sure to be on time at the pickup point for your passengers!

It’s that easy!
