The POPCHAIN Foundation participated in two large-scale blockchain events last week: Beyond Blocks Summit 2018, held at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul for two days starting on the 17th, and the Blockchain Partners Summit 2018, held at the Walker Hill Hotel in Seoul for two days starting on the 22nd. These were opportunities for us to share candid conversations with blockchain experts and network with them.

We also continued meetings with regular investors. This is something that’s as important as outside activity to us. As you know, we hosted our first online meeting with you last Friday, July 13th, at 9 pm on our official Telegram channel when we hosted a live Q&A. The conversation lasted about an hour, but it was not enough time to answer all your curiosities. So last Friday, July 20th, we had our second live Q&A.

We will share a summary, like we did last time. This time, our Head of Business, David Lee, hosted the Q&A. He started the conversation by sharing news about POPCHAIN.

A. First, PCH withdrawals on Bit-Z were unblocked today (July 20th). We apologize for the unexpected delay. We hope that this measure will vitalize PCH transactions more.

In addition, the POPCHAIN Foundation attended the Beyond Blocks Summit 2018 held at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul from the 17th to the 18th.

We will also attend the Blockchain Partners Summit which will be held this weekend, the 21st and the 22nd, at the Walker Hill Hotel in Seoul.

We are negotiating with CoinMarketCap to update our circulating supply after being listed on it. We expect to be ranked in the 400s when we complete the update. (At the time of writing this post, 11 am on July 24th, PCH is actually ranked in the 400s.)

We are also dutifully preparing for the overseas meetup in August that we told you about last week. We could only say that we are in the process of preparing one last week, but we’ve made progress since then and can announce in more detail now.

This meetup will be hosted independently by the POPCHAIN Foundation in Vietnam.

Vietnam is a blue ocean where a Korean culture-based blockchain market is rapidly growing. Through this meetup in Vietnam, we will imprint the formula of “blockchain=POPCHAIN” in the Vietnamese market.

Q. What is the POPCHAIN Foundation’s specific business strategy?

A. POPCHAIN’s vision is to cultivate a platform where providers and consumers can all receive a fair reward and produce a synergy effect. This, of course, cannot be achieved by us alone. In the early stages, the question will be whether we can obtain enough quality content. As such, in addition to attending blockchain events, we are sharing our vision with small and mid-sized content production companies, MCNs, and creators and quickly making business proposals. We will regularly update you on any new updates about partnerships.

Q: How are you seeking ways to change POPCHAIN’s negative reputation?

A: We strongly agree with you about the importance of our reputation in Korea. There were actually people who were surprised when we met with industry professionals and introduced ourselves. Thus we think that the two most important things to change our reputation are to diversify and strengthen our methods of communication and to diligently demonstrate what we are capable of without being unnecessarily swayed by public opinion, which is what we are doing.

Q. Isn’t it true that meeting industry professionals won’t immediately improve your reputation?

A. As you pointed out, we agree that our reputation comes from the public. However, we do think that a strategic positioning that comes from partnerships in the blockchain industry should not be ignored, which is why we are trying to attend plenty of large blockchain events. Moreover, in addition to maintaining our Twitter and Medium accounts for the diversification of communication channels, we are renovating our website and recruiting additional people to focus on communication.

Q. Will there be a significantly influential event like listing on Bithumb?

A. We agree with your critique that we need a big event now. We are continuing to cooperate with Bithumb, and we are negotiating in a way that makes sense for both our business roadmaps given the sensitive timing for both businesses. In addition, it is our judgment that showing you concrete results through partnerships is a good way to earn the trust of the market. We think that obtaining diverse content through partnerships will lead to a reevaluation of the value of POPCHAIN and an increase in the price of PCH.

Q. Are you hiding something about listing on large exchanges?

A. There are many blockchain companies, but the majority of them have not provided a usable service. Our foundation is establishing the POPCHAIN Platform with content-based partners to demonstrate a real service. If we were hiding something, we would not be doing things the way we are. All information about our employees is public.

Q. If you’re planning a meetup in Vietnam, are you considering an alliance with a Vietnamese exchange or their content industry?

A. We are simultaneously working on negotiations with other blockchain projects, exchanges, and content production companies. POPCHAIN’s expansion to Vietnam is not simply an expansion to a foreign market; it cannot be separated from Hallyu content.

Q. Will you resume activity on Steemit?

A. We want to focus on our official Medium, Twitter, and Telegram to communicate with you more efficiently, rather than excessively increasing the number of channels.

Q. Will you demonstrate the POPBOX at blockchain conferences?

A. The main thing that differentiates us from other blockchain projects is the POPBOX. Blockchain conferences are great for spreading the word about it. We were a little delayed while editing the video, but we are finishing up the POPBOX demonstration video from the meetup in Japan.

Q. Are you maintaining good communication with the developers in China? Do you have a separate team for China?

A. We are communicating effectively with our team in China. We will inform you of news from China as well. We do have a developer team in China and a team for business in the Sinosphere.

From now on, we will hold live Q&As biweekly. We will be announcing them on Twitter and Telegram.
