It has been an excellent start to the new year for the team here at Ventur! We have a few exciting updates on both technical milestones and our community portals.

W3F Grant Completion

This past month, we completed our Web3 Foundation Grant to develop the core Substrate modules for the Ventur Network.

For this grant, we developed four of Ventur’s core infrastructure components; we built out the Payments, RFP, NT-NFT, and Escrow Substrate pallets.

With this work completed, Ventur now has the functionality to support decentralized applications for Credentialing and Work Engagement Marketplaces.

We are grateful to the Web3 Foundation for their support for the development of these pallets.

We look forward to showcasing Ventur Network’s functionality with flagship dApps in the coming months..

Milestone 2 Pallet Rundown

As part of the second milestone for our grant, we submitted the RFP and NT-NFT Substrate pallets. Here’s a quick rundown of what they deliver:

RFP

The RFP pallet sets up the functionality for a healthy Request For Proposal marketplace. Built out in Substrate, it supports:

  • Creating an RFP
  • Submitting bids for RFPs
  • Issuers of RFPs shortlisting the top bids
  • Accepting bids
  • General RFP management such as updating details and canceling RFPs

This pallet can power marketplace dApps where users will be able to issue RFPs and begin negotiations with bidders, spawning lively networks of contracts for business processes.

NT-NFT

The Non-Transferrable NFT (NT-NFT) pallet is the core module underpinning our proposed Credentialing functionality. NT-NFTs will be obtained either through subscriptions to a DAO, or through an external certification process of an administrator’s choosing. Ownership of NT-NFTs is tied to an account, effectively implementing a Soul Bound Token. NT-NFTs enable credential verification scenarios like within an RFP marketplace, where businesses might like to verify that bidders satisfy qualification requirements in order to place a bid.

Ventur Repository Contributor Guide

As an Open Source Project we welcome participation in our development as we look towards the future.

In order to keep all our code and processes consistent, we have published a Ventur Contributor Guide, which you can find on our GitHub: https://github.com/Popular-Coding/ventur/wiki/Ventur-Wiki.

To that end, for inquiries about larger contributions to the Ventur ecosystem, please reach out to us at contact@popularcoding.com.

Ventur Discord Live

This month, we launched our very own Discord Server! It is still in its nascent stage, but we’d love to have you join us.

Here, you can follow announcements, ask questions, and even submit feedback and ideas. We’re looking forward to growing our community with your contributions.
