What was on our minds when we were creating the slogan of Populstay

A decentralized home-sharing platform where strangers are friends and experiences are shared. Guets pay less. Hosts profit more.

This is what you see when you open our website.

For every blockchain project, it is very hard to convey its idea in just a few words when there are dozens of ideas behind and thousands of hours of developing work.

Nevertheless, in order to create a platform for everyone and perceive mass adoption we have to simplify things and be very clear.

The slogan of Populstay,

Collect Moments. Not Things.

was created just a few month ago by the whole team led by our new marketing director, Periklis Ikonomidis. Each member had to present up to 10 possible slogans. Eventually, this is what the whole team chose as a result of our brainstorming.

Our Values

Firstly, we realise that the concept of home-sharing inevitably means meeting new people, or strangers, and letting them stay at your house, which is not common in some cultures, or which is something people are not really used to. Thus, we, as a platform, need to promote right values, fight prejudices and ensure the best security possible.

Obviously, the focus of our platform is put on something you cannot touch but can feel — friendship, memories, experience.

Secondly, we believe that people should be awarded for what the good things they do to others, for building trust between people and turning our world into a “global village” in a good sense. That is why we emphasize the necessity of sharing profits with the members of the platform. We, as a company, want to share our profit with our most dedicated users and encourage them make the world a better place for everyone.

Keywords for Populstay

The main words we always have on our minds are not only technology-oriented words, such as blockchain, cryptocurrency, or decentralization.

We also focused on

travel, innovation, hospitality, and fun.

As the CEO of Populstay, Walter Wang, says, “The significance of travel is not about where you go, but about what you have gained and the fact that you became a better self.” This is the idea the Populstay team believes in!

Quotes about Hospitality

[ Instead of a Conclusion]

We would like to present you a collection of quotes about travelling and meeting strangers we particularly like. Please enjoy!

“People will forget what you said, forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

― Maya Angelou

“Do what you do so well that they want to see it again and bring their friends.”

― Walt Disney

“Hospitality is present when something happens for you. It is absent when something happens to you. Those two simple prepositions — for and to — express it all.”

― Danny Meyer

“Hosiptality is the key to new ideas, new friends, new possibilities. What we take into our lives changes us. Without new people and new ideas, we are imprisoned inside ourselves.”

― Joan D Chittister

“Our full humanity is contingent on our hospitality; we can be complete only when we are giving something away; when we sit at the table and pass the peas to the person next to us we see that person in a whole new way.”

― Alice Waters

“Hospitality means primarily the creation of free space where the stranger can enter and become a friend instead of an enemy. Hospitality is not to change people, but to offer them space where change can take place. It is not to bring men and women over to our side, but to offer freedom not disturbed by dividing lines.”

Henri J.M. Nouwen

“The word hospitality in the New Testament comes from two Greek words. The first word means love and the second word means strangers. It’s a word that means love of strangers.”

― Nancy Leigh DeMoss
