The remarkable story of Jared

Imagine the future and build what’s missing !

In theory that sounds wonderful.

Just like being rich and famous

So what’s the reality?

Ideas like any thing else have consequences. So what does it actually mean to be rich ?

Webster says

1 : having abundant possessions and especially material wealth. 2a : having high value or quality. b : well supplied or endowed a city rich in traditions.

So a Billion dollars in cash in today’s dollars is Definitely rich what about a Billion dollars in assets that are not easily turned into cash.

What about one -tenth one hundred million ?

As with anything in life there are degrees of being famous also.

In Hollywood they have

A, B and C celebrities.

So let’s indulge a real life example!

Once upon a time in the 20th century a boy we will call Jared was abandoned at birth.

Legend has it Found by some stroke of luck in an alley or a dumpster. Born premature and malnourished also another stroke of luck the young boy manages to survive and was put up for adoption by a local orphanage.

One day he was adopted and grew up in a very poor neighborhood in Near Baltimore , Maryland . Back then it didn’t cost a lot of money to adopt a child . Today it has become cost prohibitive . in 2015 U.S average adoption costs is $37,000 international is $50,000-$300,000.

As a child young Jared was full of curiosity and wonder . Although his environment said other wise for some strange reason he never believed he would a prisoner to it .

Regardless of the stifling tendencies of his parents Jared walked through the gully to the library and read stories and biographies about The Morgan, Rockefeller, Carnegie. and Getty dynasties. He learned of stock speculation and buy and hold strategies that created unimaginable wealth for the likes of Jessie Livermore and of an obscure fellow he years found it was Shelby Davis. He later Read classic books like the millionaire next door, The wealthy barber and The richest man in Babylon. The lesson Jared learned from 3 books was spend less than you earn and invest the difference at least 20–30 percent of your after tax income . Years later as an adult Jared would take frugality to the extreme saving 70–80 percent .

As a child Jared became the ultimate little hustler. Tirelessly saving pennies he picked up off the ground even trading his sister Cindy 2 pennies for a nickel “he said look 2 is more that one “.

When he finally scrounged up his 1st quarter he bought a pack of 12 swimsuit cards and sold the the 12 cards for between .25 and $1 each . He quickly reinvested the profits until the market was saturated then moved on to buying and selling other items to adults .

At some point around age 5 young Jared became a big fan of Star Wars he saved his earnings for 32 weeks and walked with his mother and sister to the store to buy the Millennium Falcon. Coincidentally and another stroke of luck young Jared kept the toys in excellent condition and even saved the box the toy and surprisingly the box itself became a collectors item .

A few years later young Jared became a fan of Iron Man and wanted to buy a first edition for $40 his stifling mother thought it was too much money for a child who earned and saved

This money to spend on a comic book . The store offered an alternate $9 for one that some one traced iron man with a pencil .

Young Jared argued that he would keep it mint and one day it would be valuable the stifling mother asked the minimum wage workers who said the $9 one is just as good it’s a comic book. Many years later the mint comic was worth almost $4,500 the damaged one about $79.

A few years after that Jared now in his teen years learned of an obscure investor in Omaha. He started reading books such as the intelligent investor and securities analysis he eventually learned of a uniform minors account , unfortunately the stifler struck again and said stocks are for rich people you could lose all your savings.

So Jared continued to hustle even getting a job at a local fast food joint. He quickly realized slavery wasn’t for him.

Jared quit and returned to hustling . He began buying or selling baseball cards .

By the time Jared was 18 he had accommodated a little over 40 thousand dollars . At age 19 he finally opened up a brokerage account and invested 10k into an energy drink company. His thesis was this is the addictive the cigarettes of my generation! Two years later dropping out of college he said this place is a waste of money .

Jared got a job were he was top seller but he was never given what he was promised for this top performance. When he asked his superiors why he was told we didn’t think this kind of performance was possible .

He left that job found another one and worked 70–100hrs a week with overtime earned $ 75–100 thousand for about 3 years .

The whole time Jared was investing in the S&P Index and a bunch of individual stocks . He also opened up a Roth IRA and contributed the maximum amount. By the time Jared was 30 years old he had several millions of dollars in the stock market. Then came the greatest. financial crisis of all time . Luckily Jared had some cash on the sidelines a few hundred thousand and bought real estate for the first time for pennies on the dollar of the previous prices. Approximately six years later the stock market rallied to record highs following the discipline he had learned about from reading about the man in Omaha Jared continued buying stocks.

About six years later Jared was worth approximately ten million dollars and quit the rat race for good.

Unfortunately 2 years later Jared was in a car accident and suffer a traumatic Brain injury. During this time approximately 5 years laying around and being discriminated against by the accident lawyers since he was adopted and born in another country.

Jared learns about Dragon Eggs.

The fact that florida is a no-Fault state and Jared spent his own money at the Mayo Clinic to have some recovery. The medical expenses although some were paid out of a paltry settlement exceeded the cost in aggregate.

Eventually in the next 2 years Jared found a 21 Dragon Eggs under a Merkel Tree.

At the height of this mania Jared’s exchangeable Dragon Eggs we’re worth over 90 million dollars. Jared also had accumulated some other rotten Eggs that had a stated value of over 100 million dollars During this time Jared also was investing private business

in aggregate

Jared’s total net worth if you include the rotten eggs , public stocks and private businesses was in excess of 257 million dollars .

So back to part of the original question ?

What if you are rich but not that rich ?

Let’s call it 90 million of Dragon Eggs was liquidated but after slippage and taxes and theft of 15,9 million the net was $3.6 million. The 100 million of rotten eggs the net could have been $1.7 million but that was stolen by a criminal organization. The private business at one point were supposedly worth approx 61–70 million on paper but more realistically 10–20 million valuations were repriced after the bubble , to approx. 4–5 million on paper . The stocks were approx 10 million 4 million was sold.

980k went to taxes.

1/2 million was spent on travel and actually enjoying the pleasures of life .

1.5 million was invested in other illiquid assets

So let’s summarize approximately 257 million is

Now approx $11.1-12.1 million of which

Which approx. $ 6.6. Million is mostly liquid

Subtract another approx $3 million for stocks in retirement accounts.

So with approx $6.6 million liquid

With only approx. $3.6 million easily accessible

Let’s call it 300k in cash

Approx 300k in other

3 million in stocks

Still sounds like a lot of money

But with lifespans going into the 100s Capital gains on sales of stock

And a person with serious brain and spine injuries and chronic pain spent on medical treatments . It actually isn’t .

The part about the famous

Oddly enough the best collectors of Dragon Eggs we’re out on tv and in magazines and idolized in online publications .

All kind of silly really.

Jared although he became famous in a very small industry was even honored on the red carpets at a film festival is not even one hundredth as famous as Bradley cooper, Tom Brady or Michael Jordan.

Yet has at least 24 stalkers and countless people always wanting something from him.

Then in today’s social media age their is always haters and trolls.

Success and resentment

no matter how strong or rich or famous you are, there will be a point in your life that you will find yourself

Dealing with life’s struggles and your power to overcome them is the measurement of your strength.

Imagine the future and build what’s missing!

So Jared spends the majority of his time

Thinking and learning .

Jared has read classics like think and grow rich , never split the difference .

He is relentlessly focused discovering the next Dragon Eggs having several Billion liquid and becoming an owner of the LA Dodgers.

Ask questions !

The one thing That Jared has maintained throughout is ask questions

In life over time how does our value shift ?

If you don’t ask the question life will make you

Irrelevant.

With power what are the ramifications?

What is the best way to aid and fulfill the mission of some that has aspirations to serve every single person in the planet?
