Rest day Bariloche

The parking lot of the Llao Llao resort closed off for maintenance on our40 odd classic cars

It was a slow start to the day, there appeared to be a tonic shortage in the bar last night and the bartender made it up by adding more gin to each drink, or perhaps he thought that those are the right proportions. Anyway bonding did take place and we created a so called “team” of 3 cars. That means,in addition to each of our own standings we also compete as a team in the team standings. Our team, called team Uno, will have in it besides our car, car #65 a 1973 Tuthill Porsche 911 with a giant 3 liter engine and car #62 a Datsun 240Z from 1972. The Porsche is driven by Joost and Christine from Belgium and they are currently ranked #1. The 240Z is driven by Richard and Travis is the navigator and all around mechanic, they are currently placed 2nd. So we are in good company, but there is still a very long way to go and lots of little and big stuff can happen.

Here is Joost making sure every bolt is tightened
Here Colin discussing the finer points of the 240Z with Richard

We finished the day with a wonderful dinner with Carlos Cordeiro, Nicolas Beale and his wife, in the Llao Llao restaurant with the sun setting over the Andes mountains. Tomorrow more gravel and regularities and entering Chile in the afternoon.
