What is ETHIS about?
ETHIS (Ethereum Industry Summit — Scalability and Industry Integration) will mainly focus on the scope of Ethereum integration in different industrial fields, as well as the enhancement, and development of its community ecosystem.
The keynotes and discussions on this significant event will cover solutions such as Plasma, Casper, State Channels, and Sidechain, along with the security and Vyper, a smart contract development language shared by some considerable people in this sphere.
Two-panel discussions on “Security of Smart Contract” and “Decentralized Exchanges” are also the highlights of the conference, which are expected to generate insights regarding decentralized applications and the tokens.
Hundreds of attendees will be participating in this conference and Portal Network is excited to be part of it.

Zooko’s triangle is a trilemma of three desirable traits: human-meaningful, decentralized, and secure in a network protocol. Not a single protocol on a network could achieve more than two in the past. For instance, DNS (domain name service) is human-meaningful and secure, but not decentralized; blockchain is decentralized and secure, but hash is not human-readable or meaningful. So several projects were created accordingly to refute this conjecture, and Namecoin exhibits the very first solution to Zooko’s Triangle by producing the naming system that simultaneously fulfills the three properties on a Bitcoin blockchain. Ethereum also launched its Ethereum Name Service (ENS) and brought Ethereum-based applications into more adoption.
Web industry is progressing toward the Web 3.0. It is a new period where series of technologies and concepts are combined to emphasize how anyone can innovate anytime, anywhere in the future. The underlying technologies of Web 3.0 are the decentralized infrastructures and tools like Ethereum, IPFS, and Blockchain Name Service (BNS). Portal Network dedicates itself to create a BNS standard across multiple blockchains to solve the problems of human error, disorganization, and complexity.
So what is Portal Network’s BNS standard?
Similar to how DNS changes the IP addresses into a domain like “google.com”, BNS simplifies the long string of hashes into human-readable names. Moreover, it allows users to send or receive cryptocurrencies, interact with smart contracts, and visit dApps with the unique names that users choose.
Portal Network designed each BNS standard to meet the needs of different protocols, enhancing the procedure developers put to interact with blockchain technology, and eliminating the concerns that average users have when accessing decentralized applications. We are collaborating with Wanchain, ICON, and Enigma to work on naming systems like WNS, INS, and ENGNS, and will build more BNS compatible products like our marketplace, extension, and more.
