This Asia tour will be celebrating the launch of WANCHAIN MAIN NET 2.0 together with many other partners and Portal Network will be there to reveal our latest update on WNS (Wanchain Name Service).
Most of the people will find it hard to access to the decentralized websites or application due to the technology limitation that blockchain is facing at the current stage. To solve this problem, Portal Network have been working hard on connecting and enhancing crucial blockchain technologies.
One crucial thing Portal Network build is the decentralized Domain Name Service (DDNS), and we hereby proudly present WNS (Wanchain Name Service).
What is WNS?
Wanchain Name Service is a distributed, open, and extensible naming system based on Wanchain blockchain. It primarily changes the current Wanchain addresses (20 bytes long) into name such as “facebook.wan”, which reduces human error by generating readable and memorizable wallet addresses. WNS can also host websites for DWebs for future commercial usage. Furthermore, it can be used to provide metadata about names, such as whois information for the users.

After successfully buying the domain name, you will be able to instantly proceed to the next step: building your own decentralized website. Portal Network provides a solution, where users can easily build their own websites through drag and drop functions.
- Browser Extension
Once completed building your own decentralized website, you will want to be able to view it. Unfortunately, browsers such as Chrome, Firefox and Safari don’t support decentralized domain names (WNS, ENS) at the moment. So to solve this problem, you can simply download Portal Network’s browser extension, and you will have an easy access to all the dWebs and dApps that utilize ENS, ECNS, or WNS.
