Today we are rolling out a new feature that will improve your Porterfetch experience. Prioritising our customers has always been our goal, and improving your experience will always be our number one priority. Scaling a business like Porterfetch has large operational challenges. When there is high demand and a limited number of porters, orders are left unfulfilled. To minimise the chances of these situations happening, we introduce Holding Your Order.

What does that mean? Well in simpler terms, we are now able to hold your order temporarily in the event where our porters are busy. This will prevent leaving your order unfulfilled in instances of high demand. Have any more questions? Fret not, for the following Q&A is here to help! With love, Porterfetch.

Q & A

What is the purpose of holding your order?
We hold your orders to make it easier for you to find a porter so you don’t have keep on retrying.

How does it work?
When demand gets too high, your orders will be queued and allocated to a porter after he completes his current job. He’ll be able to continue with your order after he becomes available.

How does this help make Porterfetch more reliable?
When there is high demand, this feature increases the chances of you finding a porter. It allows orders to be queued, which then results in more successful deliveries. This also removes the need for you to continuously search for a porter!

If the wait is too long, can I cancel my order?
Yes, you can! Just look out for the cancel button at the bottom of your order page. Be quick though, you can’t cancel your order once the store has started preparing the items!

How do I know when a Porter is found?
Simply refresh your page. When you see that the status has changed to ‘accepted’ along with a profile photo of a porter — you’ll know your order is on the way!
